On the website of World of Warcraft, Warcraft’s general manager John Hight recently commented on the acquisition. Among other things, Hight emphasized the MMO expertise of the new additions.

We know you’re hungry for new content, and I’m really proud of how our dev teams are working to meet or exceed those expectations – there’s more happening in WoW than ever before, and this is just the beginning.

To meet our growing content needs, we’ve been working with a great development partner, Proletariat, since May. Proletariat was founded in 2012 by industry veterans from Turbine, Harmonix, Zynga, and Insomniac. Their strong leadership team has a long history of working together, has extensive MMO experience working on Asheron’s Call, Lord of the Rings Online, and D&D Online, and has a strong presence in Boston, where they are based.

Our work with the team at Proletariat has been going well. Today, we’re excited to announce that Blizzard has completed the acquisition of Proletariat – something we’ve been working on for a while.

Together, our teams will expand our development pipeline for WoW. Our plan is to continue to grow both our Irvine and Boston teams, with shared creative leadership providing feedback to ensure we continue to meet or exceed player – and our own – expectations for quality and delivery. The acquisition of Proletariat brings 100 talented Blizzard employees to this newest Blizzard Entertainment studio.

WoW Classic: Last phase of the first – Season of the championship has started

The final phase of the first – Season of the championship of WoW Classic has started.

The incorporation of Proletariat into Blizzard will take a few months, and we look forward to all the ways our combined strength will help us achieve our goals, support our teams, and serve you better.

Please join us in welcoming Proletariat to Blizzard! They are very excited to work with the community and shape the future of World of Warcraft. (buy now ) to further shape.

What do you guys think of Proletariat’s takeover? Do you think that the WoW-inexperienced developers can actually have a positive impact on the launch of WoW: Dragonflight? After all, the launch is supposed to happen this year (possibly already in November 2022). Tell us in the comments!
