Starcraft Units – Ghost

Ghost

GHOST DESCRIPTION

Ghosts represent the pinnacle of Terran evolution and physical conditioning. These individuals are born with enormous psionic potential, which is why they are recruited by the government for further and quarantined while they are still children. Channeling their psionic energies allows Ghosts to greatly increase their natural strength and endurance. This process is supported by a battle suit reinforced with psi-sensitive material and artificial muscle fibers. This combination of mental prowess and technology makes a Ghost more enduring, stronger, and faster than any normal, well-trained Terran soldier.

Some exceptionally gifted Ghosts have the ability to walk through walls, travel at incredible speed, and leap over even the tallest obstacles. Exciting media reports of long-distance telepathy, telekinesis and even mind control and other alleged powers of the Ghosts continue to fuel the reputation for ruthlessness cultivated by their masters.

To prevent one of these deadly individuals from going rogue, each Ghost is implanted with a neural inhibitor. However, there are legitimate doubts about the effectiveness of this measure. Scattered rumors that some Ghosts are operating outside of government control seem to confirm this assumption. Of particular note is the current leader of the Zerg Hive, Sarah Kerrigan, formerly a Ghost under the command of Arkturus Mensk who, after being captured, contracted the hyperevolutionary Zerg Virus and eventually defected.

Ghosts are rightly feared on the battlefield for their supernatural sniping with the K-10 Canister Rifle. In the hands of others, the K-10 is little more than an unwieldy , but a Ghost can use it to kill a target with a single shot. The tactical primary task of a Ghost is to track down enemy buildings and units and then neutralize them with tactical nuclear missiles or request landing pods. To mark targets for these attacks, the K-10 is additionally equipped with a low-frequency laser mounted on the underbarrel.

Arguably the most irritating ability of these agents to adversaries is their ability to conceal themselves from enemy detection through perfect camouflage. This “invisibility” and the difficult to understand tactics of the Ghosts are feared on all battlefields. The psionic powered single camouflage field is a custom that is only issued upon request. Once equipped, this device connects to a Ghost’s protective suit. The wearer can then activate the cloaking mechanism at any time through sheer willpower, making detection by the enemy, unless they have special sensor equipment, virtually impossible.

TERRAN

General Information

The Terrans can neither boast impressive technologies nor unbeatable masses, they seem to be the least dangerous race in the universe. However, this is also their strength, often underestimated by the enemy, they can attack from ambush and thus take advantage of the surprise effect. The Terran forces are often formed from prisoners who want to shorten their sentence. These fighters, assigned to the infantry, are often poorly trained, but have an iron will to fight. Smaller war machines, such as the infamous tanks, are often used to support the foot troops.

The Terrans’ greatest enemy seems to be the Terrans themselves: Shattered by internal conflicts and wars, the Terrans have never been able to form a cohesive army to reach their full potential.
