FIFAe World Cup and FIFAe Nations Cup cancelled!

The FIFAe World Cup 2021 and the FIFAe Nations Cup 2021 was officially cancelled! The reason for this is the ongoing Corona pandemic. The FIFAe World Cup should have taken place from August 6 to 8 in London, Great Britain, the FIFAe Nations Cup would have gone up between August 20 and 22 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Esport people are of course totally disappointed.

Shocking news for all Esport players and fans! The cancellations of the important and highly endowed tournaments hits some gamers really hard. But the reasons for the cancellations sound plausible.

FIFAe World Cup and FIFAe Nations Cup cancelled!

The FIFAe World Cup has been cancelled! This was officially announced by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association). The biggest annual soccer simulation tournament has been cancelled for the second year in a row. The reaction is depressed among esports players and fans, but the organizer had no other choice.

Since the tournament is an offline tournament and a restructuring to an online tournament was not feasible, a cancellation remained without alternative with increasing Corona numbers.

Why the FIFAe World Cup and the FIFAe Nations Cup were cancelled

The main reason for the cancellation is the ongoing Corona pandemic. The venues each have entry and exit restrictions. Great Britain is a high incidence area, Denmark is considered a simple risk area. Those entering the country would have to go into quarantine for at least ten days – so there is no chance of the event being held locally.

The organizers are not entirely free of criticism, however, because the Corona pandemic has not just been around since yesterday. An alternative solution and faster communication would have been quite conceivable. The official cancellation was actually announced only one week before the tournament started – whew!

Esport players disappointed about FIFAe World Cup cancellation

The Esport players who are directly affected by the decision are of course disappointed. Bene “BeneCR7” Bauer from Germany, among others, qualified for the finals for the time and had a hard preparation behind him. His reaction:

Of course, we can all understand that. But dear Bene, don’t bury your head in the sand now, because the next FIFAe World Cup is coming for sure! And then we want to see you in the final.

There is a small consolation, and that is in the form of cash. The prize pool will be divided among all participants at the same time. So every Esport player who qualifies for the final round will get some cash after all. Of course, we would have preferred to see the games.
