Team Information:
Team Vitality is a French multi-gaming organization. The Vitality tag is offered in six disciplines, including CSGO, League of Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, PUBG and Overwatch. We bring to your attention the history of the CSGO division of the prestigious organization.
First impression
French Counter-Strike has always been considered one of the best in Europe. It is not surprising that successful clubs were born and successful players appeared in France. Team Vitality immediately targeted such performers.
The first roster for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was assembled in October 2018. It includes veterans of the competitive scene NBK-, Happy, RpK, apEX, who have won more than one championship, as well as the young talent ZywOo. Together with the five performers was contracted a coach, who became the faculty.
First results
The first results of the newly minted team were not long in coming. Almost a month after signing, Vitality won DreamHack Open Atlanta 2018 in November 2018, and a month later the Frenchmen took second place in LOOT.BET Cup – No. 3 .
However, the positive start was quickly overshadowed by their performance in the closed qualifiers of the European Championship – Katowice 2019. There Vitality finished in 5th to 8th place.
After that on the bench Happy, and his place was taken by the young British performer Alex.
The beginning of 2019 proved to be quite chaotic for Vitality. In January, the team took first to fourth place at ESEA – Season 29: Premier Relegation – Europe and 2nd place at European Championship – Katowice 2019, when in the same month it was defeated in the open qualification for Intel Extreme Masters XIV – Sydney: European Open qualification.
In February, the team takes 1st place at WePlay! Lock and Load finished 9th-11th in the debut major tournament in the history of Intel Extreme Masters XIII – Katowice Major 2019 in the same month.
The following year, Team Vitality tries to “smooth” the results while considering the best options for the squad, which needs to be rejuvenated. In April, Happy leaves the team, which has spent several months on the bench.
In the same month, Team Vitality won Charleroi Esports 2019 and finished 2nd in the Esports Championship Series – Season 7 – Europe. Vitality continues to perform well in May. The team won the ESL One: Cologne 2019 – Europe Qualifier and won cs_summit 4. However, the 5th-6th place at DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019 turned a bit darker in May.
Summer 2019 is going well for Vitality. In June, the team won the Esports Championship Series Seaso 7 Grand Championship – Finals and also won the ESEA – Season 31: Premier Division – Europe.
In July, the team lost to Team Liquid in the final of ESL One: Cologne 2019. After that, it showed a not very good result in the qualification for ESL One: New York 2019, finishing in 7th-8th place. In the same month, Vitality finished 3rd-4th in two major tournaments at the same time: ESEA – Season 31: Global Challenge and Intel Extreme Masters XIV – Chicago.
In September, Vitality faces another serious test – StarLadder Berlin Major 2019. At the beginning, the Frenchmen don’t fare well, but Vitality makes it to the playoffs. However, the team failed to prove itself there and the result was 5th to 8th place.
After playing at the Berlin Major, NBK- goes to the bench and Shox takes his place at the base.
After replacing a player, Vitality takes 2nd place at DreamHack Masters Malmo 2019 in October, but some mistakes follow: In the same month, Vitality takes 7th-8th place at StarSeries & i-League CS: GO – Season 8 and 13th place at Esports Championship Series – Season 8 – Europe.
November is followed by 3-4th place at Intel Extreme Masters XIV – Beijing and 9-10th place at ESL Pro League – Season 10 – Europe. It seems that Vitality will no longer be able to gain a foothold at the top of the European scene, but EPICENTER 2019 will take place in December.
At EPICENTER 2019, to everyone’s surprise, Team Vitality shows an excellent game that will eventually allow them to win one of the biggest tournaments of the year.
2020 and the coronavirus pandemic
The start of 2020 for Vitality was not very fortunate against the backdrop of the last victory at EPICENTER 2019. In February, the team finished 7th-9th at BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 regular – Season and 9th-12th at Intel Extreme Masters XIV – World Championship.
After a series of unsuccessful tournaments, Vitality decided to make personnel changes. In March 2020, ALEX left the active roster and Misutaaa took his place.
As early as April, with the beginning of the era of the online format, Vitality appeared with a new lineup. The first tournament for Misutaaa in the French Stars team was ESL Pro League – Season 11: Europe, where Vitality finished 7th to 9th. In May, the team finished 4th in ESL One: Road to Rio – Europe.
The summer started very positively again. Vitality won the BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 European Showdown in June. However, in the same month they finished 7th-8th at DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 Europe. However, the pandemic didn’t end there, which means the tournaments didn’t end either. At the end of June, Vitality finished 2nd at the BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 European Finals and later took two more second places: at cs_summit 6 Online: Europe in July and ESL One: Cologne 2020 Online – Europe in August.
September 2020 for Vitality began with a 9th-10th place finish in – Season 12 of ESL Pro League: Europe and later grew to a 3rd-10th place finish at Intel Extreme Masters XV – New York Online: Europe to finish 3rd to 4th, although this happened back in October.
All in the same October, Vitality finished second at DreamHack Open Fall 2020 and won the regular – Season BLAST Premier: Fall 2020. In November, Vitality once again became the champion of a major tournament. It was Intel Extreme Masters XV – Beijing Online: Europe, in the finals of which Vitality defeated NaVi on 5 maps.
