Team Information:
NRG Esports is a well-known American multigaming game. NRG rosters are included in CSGO, Rocket League and Overwatch. We present you the history of the CSGO division of the renowned organization.
First impression
Although NRG Esports is a recognizable and popular organization, they joined CSGO relatively recently. The first composition of the American organization in the discipline of Valve was released only in 2016. Then the club signed the ex-method list, which included the following:
Drop b;
SileNt3m;
just9n;
ptr;
LEGIJA
These five defended the tag for 5 months, from January 2016 to May of the same year. During this time, the team managed to participate in several qualifiers for major tournaments. NRG won the qualifiers for the Counter Pit League – Season 2 – America and DreamHack Masters Malmo 2016 – North America opera qualifiers. At the Main Event Counter Pit League – Season 2, NRG finished in 3-4th place. The closed qualifiers for DreamHack Malmo 2016 have remained an insurmountable barrier for the club.
In May 2016, the club was changed. Just9n and SileNt left the roster and tabseN and FugLy took their place. The team played in this composition until December 2016. However, the – Season proved to be less than successful, to say the least. After that, the organization announced a new composition for 2017.
Finding the optimal roster
In the new year, NRG made serious changes to its roster. The base includes:
ptr;
FugLy;
Daps;
cJ-dA-K1nG;
Marved.
However, such changes did not bring visible results. Throughout 2017, NRG could not find their game. They participated in all possible qualifiers for major tournaments, but failed to achieve significant success.
The loudest result in 2017 was a victory in the closed qualifier for DreamHack Denver 2017, as well as the first place in the Americas Minor Championship 2018 – Boston.
During these volatile performances, NRG management was constantly experimenting with the lineup. Throughout 2017, different players came and went to the team. It wasn’t until 2018 that a more stable roster was built.
Dawn of NRG
In 2018, NRG began to show more acceptable results. The team landed in the top four more and more often in qualifying tournaments and also showed up at major championships.
NRG started 2018 with FugLy, Brehze, Daps, CeRq and nahtE. NRG played the same squad throughout the – Season .
In 2018, the American team finished 1st in the qualifiers for Intel Extreme Masters XIII – Sydney, StarSeries, and i-League CS: GO, – Season 5. Intel Extreme Masters XIII – Katowice Major 2019 became the first major in the history of the tag. However, the solemnity of the moment was overshadowed by the result of the performance. At Intel Extreme Masters XIII – Katowice Major 2019, NRG finished 15th-16th, which brought natural changes to the squad. FugLy was replaced by Tarik.
NRG played in the updated roster until summer 2019. During this time, the team managed to finish 3-4th in StarSeries & I-League CS: GO – Season 7, win the group stage of ESL Pro League – Season 9 – America, and finish 3-4th in Intel Extreme Masters XIV – Sydney and cs_summit 4.
In May 2019, the team finished 9th-12th at DreamHack Masters Dalls 2019, then rehabilitated in June and finished 3rd-4th at Esports Championship Series – Season 7 – Finals.
In July, NRG replaced Daps with Stanislaw, which was the last change within the CSGO division. The renewed NRG squad ended the – Season with a 3: 4 finish at ESL Pro League – Season 9 – Finals, a 5: 6 finish at ESL One Cologne 2019, and a 3rd place finish at BLAST Pro Series: Los Angeles 2019.
