WoW The best machinimas in the history of World of Warcraft

Machinimas have been very popular for years, and especially in World of Warcraft, many great works have been created over the long history. In our special, we’ll show you the best machinimas we’ve seen so far!

Illegal Danish? Boom De Yada? The Craft of War? Well, do all these words bring back memories? There are countless machinimas, sometimes long, sometimes short, sometimes funny, sometimes serious. In case you don’t know what machinimas are: They are movies or clips created with the help of a game engine. The word machinima is made up of the two words “machine” for machine and “cinema” for cinema. So it’s a machine cinema … or something. And just like on the big screen, there are an incredible number of great works among the WoW machinimas. We’ll show you what we think are the best of the last few years.

WoW: Do you remember? Back in the day?
Many of the most popular machinimas are already a few years old, but that doesn’t mean they are any less interesting and well-made. Illegal Danish is the one.

Illegal Danish (2006)
Few machinima are as popular and well-known among World of Warcraft fans as Illegal Danish, with its story about the somewhat quirky High Warlord Van Kraken and his hunt for the Illegal Danish. Besides the crazy story, the characters like Basutei and Floivan are real highlights. Our favorite, however, is Dirti, the annoying pink-haired gnome who chats up everyone in Ironforge and asks if anyone wants to join his guild.

The Craft of War: BLIND (2009).
“You want to catch me? Hide and seek!” A blood elf villain planning a hit and run in Stormwind? A good basis for a clip longer than six minutes. In BLIND, the focus is on combat and aesthetics, as there is no dialogue, but instead the appropriate music in the form of Hide & Seek by Namie Amuro. During this song, there is extensive fighting against the Stormwind guards, but also against the bodyguard of the would-be victim. Can the rogue do her job?

WoW: Tralali and Tralala
One of the most popular elements in machinimas are music tracks, whether it’s in the form of a song or some kind of funky musical! Even if you haven’t seen some of the movies in years, you can still sing along. What was the internet for anyway? We’ll answer your question below!

Welcome to the Mines of Death (2010)
The biggest and coolest villain in World of Warcraft? The Lich King? Illidan? Deathwing? Gul’dan? Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that! The answer is Edwin VanCleef! At least that’s how VanCleef sees it. When a small group of brave warriors go to explore the Death Mines, they are met by the greatest villain of all time and led through the instance. Of course, the whole thing is supported by a great song that laments the suffering of the Brotherhood several times. Sing along with Defias Brotherhood:

Boom De Yada (2010)
What happens when Highlord Tirion Fordring and Highlord Darion Mograine philosophize about old times and stories? Exactly, the result is a really good song! For the author of these lines, Boom De Yada is by far the best machinima of all time, if only because of the many familiar and cool characters. Alone all the champions from Northrend, the middle finger in the dark portal, Illidan being shot down, the jubilant Kael’thas, Ragnaros in his cuddly core or C’Thun who just comes across as melancholic. The list could be continued endlessly! By the way, the song is also a blast! Just convince yourselves:

The Internet is for porn (2008)
Let’s move on to the question of what the Internet is actually made for. For dirty pictures and videos, of course. And for cat content. But on this dubious topic there was already a wonderful video many years ago with the Tauren lady Kate, who actually just wants to sing the praises of this technology. But she keeps getting interrupted by her male friends – only to discover that everyone is doing something dirty in some way. Or as the male choir puts it, “Why you think the net was born? Porn, porn, porn!” Yet this statement is not even historically incorrect; after all, faster Internet connections were largely promoted by the porn industry.

What is ?

is a true recreation of the original WoW as you know it from 2006. All parts of the game – from combat mechanics and talent trees to character models and zones – have been recreated, contributing to the authentic experience.
