WoW Guide: Emalon the Storm Warden

Once your faction has won the Battle for the Fortress in Wintergrasp, you will have two hours to finish off the two bosses in the inner chamber. After this time period, the next round of the Battle for Wintergrasp begins; access to the chamber is blocked for now.

Enter the instance, kill three Archavon guards and then take the right corridor to reach Emalon. In front of the boss, two storm guards are waiting for you, and you need to kill them as soon as possible. Because once they have ten charges of the Overload ability, they will destroy the raid.

In normal mode against Emalon, take two tanks and at least two healers. Fill up the rest of the group with damage dealers. In heroic mode you need three tanks, two for two storm servants and the third for the boss. Five to six healers should be enough for this fight, because more means less damage for the enemies and can lead to the failure of the encounter.

The main tank only takes care of Emalon. The four powerful storm guards surrounding the boss are kept at bay by the second tank. This whipping boy also starts the fight and pulls the four storm guards into one of the two front corners of the room. The boss’s tank taunts Emalon as quickly as possible and drags him to the back of the room. The group spreads out in the room at a certain distance from each other to minimize the damage of the chain lightning. At regular intervals, Emalon detonates a lightning nova that deals up to 30,000 points of damage to all nearby players. Before the nova is triggered, melee fighters and tanks have five seconds to flee.

After 45 seconds, Emalon casts an overload spell on one of the attackers, healing it. All damage dealers take care of this minion, who must be finished off within 20 seconds. This is because every two seconds he receives an “overcharge” buff that increases his damage and size by 20 percent. After receiving ten charges, it explodes, causing about 20,000 points of damage in a radius of 50,000 meters. To avoid this, the raid leader places symbols on the minions so that all damage dealers can immediately attack the affected enemy.

If you finish off the elemental in time, a new storm servant will appear at Emalon, which must be immediately bound by the second tank. From this point on, you have 45 seconds before Overcharge is cast on a servant again. So during this phase, target Emalon and deal as much damage as possible. Use this tactic until he is defeated. Remember, however, that in Heroic mode, Emalon must be defeated within six minutes, otherwise he will get angry and put a painful end to your raid. In normal mode, on the other hand, you have all the time in the world.

Class
Tank
Like all melee fighters, the boss tank must always keep an eye on the lightning nova and dodge it in time to avoid a premature death. The second or third tank has the important task of binding the returning storm servant that appears right by Emalon as quickly as possible and moving to the other elementals. If he does not do this in time, he will charge through the raid and cause unnecessary damage.

Healers
Tanks take a lot of damage in this fight. Also, if the raid is awkwardly close together, Chain Lightning deals additional group damage. So always stay on the ball and use all your skills.

Melee Fighters When Emalon
uses his lightning nova, you only have five seconds to escape. So always keep an eye on his magic bar to be able to react quickly and not fall victim to the nova immediately. Speed is also required with the charged Storm Servant. An /assist Second Tanks Name macro is helpful here to immediately target the right enemy.
