Call of Duty Warzone 2 is scheduled for release in 2022, shortly after Modern Warfare 2.
Activision not only wants to release Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 this year, but also the new Warzone. That listens at least so far to the name Warzone 2.0 and was confirmed for a release in 2022. To be more precise, it will be released shortly after Modern Warfare 2. But that’s not all we know about the new Battle Royale. The plan is to introduce a completely new inventory with new camos and so on, so you won’t be able to transfer anything from the first Warzone.
Warzone 2 will be released shortly after CoD Modern Warfare 2
Announcements are hailing: There’s a lot going on with Call of Duty, and there’s more to come. This year’s spin-off Modern Warfare 2 (not to be confused with Modern Warfare 2!) not only has an official release date, but the campaign has also been unveiled with much fanfare. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 wants to make us really wet
What do we know so far about Warzone 2? However, some details about the Battle Royale offshoot have now been announced that are new. For one, there’s the release timeframe, which has now been narrowed down. The rumors that Warzone 2 will be delayed to 2023 don’t seem to be true (yet). Apart from that, there will probably be completely separate content, progress, inventories and so on from the first game (via: official Call of Duty site).
- Release date: According to Call of Duty’s official Twitter channel, Warzone 2.0 will be released “shortly after the launch” of Modern Warfare 2.
- Separate progress: The old and new Warzone will not be merged, there will be new content, new progression systems and a separate inventory. This means that you will have to part with your beloved skins and camos, but you will be able to earn new ones.
- Shared Engine: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 are said to share the same graphics engine, providing more uniformity.
- Old Warzone continues: The previous CoD Warzone is to continue as a separate experience and also receive new progression options.
- Mobile-Warzone is also coming: All good things come in threes and accordingly a separate Warzone game will also be released for iOS and Android.
- Ricochet Anti-Cheat is supposed to be used in the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 as well as in Warzone 2.0 right at launch.
New sandbox mode? Still in the dark is another Call of Duty mode that is supposed to be revealed in more detail sometime soon. We don’t know more details yet, but it sounds like it could be some kind of PvPvE shooter variant à la Tarkov or Hunt: Showdown. There have always been rumors about such a Call of Duty mode and now it could possibly be part of Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2.
What are you looking forward to more: Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2?
