Update V.21.50 for Fortnite Creative Mode

V.21.50 includes the new Melee Weapon Designer device, the “” flag object, immersive editing in first-person perspective, increased player counts on islands, and other UI and usability improvements! We’ve also added impostor ready objects and galleries, Colossal Crops ready objects, and updated other ready objects and galleries.

Melee Weapon Designer / Melee Weapons

Fortnite melee weapon designer

Creative mode now has swords and hammers! Uses the Melee Weapon Designer to customize melee weapons. Here are some examples of the customization options: Changing the amount of damage done, assigning a custom name, equipping special attacks, and deciding if the weapon affects player stats. Keep the following in mind:

  • Each melee weapon designer device can spawn multiple weapons with the same customizations.
  • When you change the options in the Melee Weapon Designer, all weapons spawned by the device adopt the changed options.
  • If you want to create multiple weapons, each with different customizations, you must set up a Melee Weapon Designer for each of the different weapons.

Customize a melee weapon to your liking and use the melee weapon designer to spawn as many copies as you need, which you can then drop on other equipment.

IMPORTANT: Deleting a melee weapon designer device will reset all weapons spawned from that device to their default settings.

The Melee Weapon Designer introduces some complex new functionality to ’s Creative Mode, which is why it’s basically still in open beta. This means that even after our extensive testing, you’re still likely to encounter unexpected bugs when using the new systems. Please report any issues through the usual channels on the official Discord server.

These issues are currently known:

  • The Jump Attack: Push Away option does not push players as far away as it should.
  • There is no setting for sprint attack energy consumption on the hammer.
  • Weapons with the Secondary Action option set to “-” prevent the player from sprinting and jumping when the Secondary Action button is held down.
  • Weapons that have the “Low Energy Multiplier” option set to 0% will continue to let the player attack even if they have no energy left.

  • Once you have selected a weapon type in the Melee Weapon Designer, the device cannot switch to another weapon type. Instead, you must delete the device and place a new melee weapon designer.

  • There is a push away option for all weapon attacks except sprint attacks.
  • When players perform a charged attack, they sometimes enter a state where they cannot jump again until they have dodged once. The third strike of a simple combo attack with the hammer does no damage to buildings.

We are currently working on these issues, which should be fixed in the next updates. We are also interested in what you think of the new system overall and what features should be added to it.

Rainbow Royale

As part of the upcoming “Rainbow Royale” , we’ve added a “Rainbow Royale” flag object to the “General Objects” Gallery A. We have many other great things planned for Rainbow Royale, so check out the Fortnite Creative Mode social media channels to learn more!

Memory display on all islands

The XL islands (extra-large islands) use a grid-based memory display. So anything you place in a grid square will only be charged to the memory budget of the grid squares that this square affects. This feature is now enabled on all islands! This should make it easier for you to balance your islands and take full advantage of the memory limit.

Immersive editing (in first-person perspective)

You can now switch to a first-person perspective when editing your island in Create mode. This gives you a bit more control when placing terrain, buildings, and equipment. The setting for immersive editing can be found in the Quick menuwhich you can open with the Options-button to open it.

As with the melee weapon designer device, this system is complex. Despite our extensive testing, immersive editing will likely still have a few bugs and rare issues that we haven’t found yet. So we consider this system to be a feature in open beta as well. You can lend us a hand by reporting any issues you notice while using the feature.

Team and player limit increased

Your islands can now have up to 60 players or teams!

Server total time notifications

We have changed the way server total time and server restart are handled. Previously, when you arrived on your island, there would be a storm countdown and the storm would eliminate you before a server restart. However, from now on, pop-up messages will appear telling you the remaining server time. Also, the server will automatically send all players on the island back to the Fortnite lobby when it restarts.
