Marine
Marines are the first line of defense for most terran worlds in the Koprulu Sector. In the days of the old Confederacy, the vast majority of Marines were criminals or rebels who underwent mandatory neural rehabilitation. These fearless soldiers, freed from any obligation or ideology, were willing to defend the interests of the Confederacy with their lives. After the fall of the Confederacy, the enlistment of “Resoz” marines was restricted, but was still common; but volunteers were often in short supply.
The Marines’ heavy armor is particularly effective against light weapon fire, providing them with a life support system and NBC (Nuclear/Biological/Chemical) shielding for operations in deep space and other hostile environments. In the light of experience gained during the Brood War, ballistic combat shields were developed that enabled the Marines to engage in increasingly deadly battles.
Marines are typically armed with C-14 “Firestorm” gauss rifles that fire 8mm metal bolts at hypersonic speeds. The standard ammunition is designed to have maximum penetration against all armor classes, but there are also a number of special ammunition. Of these, the U-238 enriched uranium bolts are the most common, increasing the lethal range of the gauss rifle by up to 25%. To optimize ammo and energy consumption, the rifle uses a special loading system to fire short, controlled bursts. The Marine’s flexible arm can be used to target both air and ground units.
While the use of rehabilitated marines is still controversial, the use of stimpacks creates far more excitement. Built-in chemical delivery systems deliver Marines a powerful concoction of synthetic adrenaline, endorphins, and a psychotropic aggression enhancer. Marines under the influence of Stims benefit from significant increases in speed and reflexes, but are subject to long-term side effects including insomnia, weight loss, mania/hypomania, convulsions, paranoid delusions, internal bleeding, and brain damage. Nonetheless, both Commanders and Marines view the use of Stims as essential to survival and continued success on the battlefield.

TERRAN
General Information
The Terrans can neither boast impressive technologies nor unbeatable masses, they seem to be the least dangerous race in the Starcraft universe. However, this is also their strength, often underestimated by the enemy, they can attack from ambush and thus take advantage of the surprise effect. The Terran forces are often formed from prisoners who want to shorten their sentence. These fighters, assigned to the infantry, are often poorly trained, but have an iron will to fight. Smaller war machines, such as the infamous tanks, are often used to support the foot troops.
The Terrans’ greatest enemy seems to be the Terrans themselves: Shattered by internal conflicts and wars, the Terrans have never been able to form a cohesive army to reach their full potential.
