MSI 2022 Knockout Stage: First Semi-Final between RNG and EG
Here’s how it goes: RNG was allowed to choose their semi-final opponent as the winner of the Rumble Stage – it became Evil Geniuses from the LCS.
The first game in the MSI 2022 semifinals is what LoL fans would call a stomp. At no time could EG do anything against RNG. Especially EG’s Toplaner Impact was dived several times already in the early game. Only RNG’s Jungler Wei could be killed once – in the end one kill for EG was matched by about 22 from RNG. The game lasted only 27 minutes.
The second game: The second game between RNG and EG was also won by the Chinese. However, the game was more balanced than game one for long stretches. Evil Geniuses showed courage when they launched Baron – but RNG Jungler Wei was able to steal him. As a result, EG Toplaner Impact got caught twice by the opponent. The Chinese from RNG did not miss this invitation and ended the game after about 35 minutes. EG looked much better in this game – can they attack again?
Third Game: For a long time it looked like Game One would repeat itself. RNG dominated every lane and already had one foot in the final. But then they made the same mistake as EG in the first game. They launched Baron, got geaced, and EG’s Jungler Inspired even stole the Baron. A 10,000 gold deficit turned into an almost even game. The Americans were getting their hopes up to make it to the MSI 2022 finals after all. As a result, the game became a competitive one. EG got the Elder Drake, RNG the next Baron. Then EG’s Midlaner jojopyun got caught in his own jungle. An Ace followed and with it the 3:0 victory for Royal Never Give Up.
MSI 2022 Knockout Stage: Second Semifinal between G2 Esports and T1
First Game: In the first game of the semifinal between G2 Esports and T1, Superstar Faker surprised directly with a new pick. For the first time at MSI 2022 Tristana was played in the midlane. How it went? Faker had over 70cs more than opponent caps on Tristana at the end of the game – the first game went just over 24 minutes long. Even after the first day of the Rumble Stage, G2 still had hopes of winning MSI 2022. This stomp against T1 doesn’t bode well.
Second Games: The second game between G2 and T1 looked much closer than the first for a long time. Then it came down to a teamfight in the Jungle. T1 Botlaner Gumayusi on Xayah and Faker on LeBlanc gave G2 no chance. First, G2 was geaced, then T1 got the Baron as well. T1 was able to finish the game only after 32 minutes, but so far the South Koreans look much too strong for their European opponents. They dominated their opponents on every lane. The score is 2:0 for T1.
Third Game: Not much needs to be written about the third game between T1 and G2. At no point in the game did G2 Esports even stand a chance. At the 18 minute mark, T1 led 17 to three kills – had 13,000 more gold than G2. The game lasted just over 20 minutes. With this new stomp, T1 secured their spot in the MSI 2022 finals against RNG.
