Game provider Pragmatic Play adorable collection of canines returns for another round of The Dog House, this time with a new Multihold bonus round that will almost certainly take your winnings to a whole new level. The base game is essentially the same as the original, and even seasoned fans of the game probably won’t be able to tell any difference until they reach the free spins. This makes the 20-win line The Doghouse Multihold more of an update than a full sequel, but that shouldn’t matter to most players since the top jackpot has been increased to 9,000x the total bet. The RTP has taken a small hit to compensate, but is still above the industry average at 96.06%.
The familiar kennel wilds appear again in Multihold, each with a 2x or 3x multiplier attached. The wilds can only appear on reels two, three and four, but if more than one appears on a single payline, their values are added together before being applied to your winnings. The real appeal of this machine, however, are the free spins, where the reel set in the corner of the screen shrinks and three more sets of reels are waiting to be unlocked. Wild symbols become sticky in this mode, and unlocking all four matrices is a surefire way to come away with a big win. As with most Pragmatic Play slots, a bonus buying facility is available for 100x the normal price per spin,
The first Dog House slot seems to be a favorite with players here at Demoslot, and I’m sure this update will prove popular as well – check it out with our free demo slot of The Dog House Multihold, available to play below:
THE DOG HOUSE MULTIHOLD SLOT THEME, BETS, PAYOUTS & SYMBOLS
If you haven’t played the first one yet Dog House If you’ve already played one, it probably doesn’t make much sense once you’ve tried this one – the two games are visually identical, as Pragmatic Play has reused all the resources used in the original. However, that’s not a bad thing – these dogs are cute enough that they absolutely deserved a third outing! The 2x and 3x multiplier wild symbols are reminiscent of many buffalo clone slots, including Pragmatic’s Buffalo King, but this game has the distinct advantage that they get sticky during the bonus round. Sticky Wild bonus rounds have always been good to me over the years and have been responsible for the vast majority of my biggest slot wins. Now let’s see if The Dog House Multihold seems ready to continue that trend.
The big-eyed blue dog is still the best dog on the paytable, although this time it is worth slightly less 25x the total bet for a full payline of five of a kind. The pink dog is now worth 17.5x for all five of its symbols, while the yellow and cyan pug are worth 12.5x and 7.5x the total bet, respectively. There are two middle loons – a collar worth 5x for a full payline, and a slightly less valuable bone worth 3.75x. I’m not sure the dogs would agree with Pragmatic Play’s definition of “valuable” there! As for the low-paying royals, these are divided into the ace/lord at 2.5x and the queen, jack and ten, all of which offer 1.25x for a five-of-a-kind combination.
Whether you like to bet big or small, The Dog House Multihold’s bet selection system has you covered. Pressing the plus/ minus buttons brings up a smaller window with three controls that allow you to select coins per line, coin value and total bet. This offers complete flexibility between minimum/maximum bets of €0.20 and €100.00, respectively.
BASIC GAME & MODIFICATIONS
The Doghouse Multihold uses a standard Layout of 5×3 video slots spanned by 20 fixed paylines. This means that all lines must be played on every spin, although this would be a good idea anyway as you don’t want to miss out on the potentially increased wild line wins! All prizes require a minimum of three matching symbols, starting from the leftmost reel, to reward a win.
WILD MULTIPLIERS
The kennel symbol is wild and substitutes for all symbols except the bonus scatter. These symbols appear only on reels two, three and four, but each also has a win-boosting multiplier of 2x or 3x. The multiplier is applied to all win lines that pass through it, and if multiple wilds appear on a single line, their values are added up before it is applied to your winnings.
DOGHOUSE MULTIHOLD SLOT’S BONUS FEATURES
The paw scatter symbolI appears only on reels one, three and five, and you must spin all three at once to activate seven free spins in the bonus round.
FREE SPINS
With the bonus round being played four sets of reels, but only the first set is unlocked at the beginning of the feature. You will need to collect three more scatters during your free spins to unlock the next set of reels, and these only appear on the last matrix that was previously unlocked.
Any wild symbols that appear on the last unlocked matrix become wild for the duration of the bonus round and are copied over to the next matrix when it is unlocked. The idea here is that when you reach the fourth matrix, you should have quite a bit of the playing area with wilds at that point. Of course, the sooner you hit some wilds, the more profitable the bonus round is likely to be, as they are copied to the other three matrices when they are unlocked.
Unlocking a new matrix will boost your remaining spin counter by one, two or three additional spins. Nevertheless, I still had trouble unlocking more than three sets of rolls while testing the game. However, this did not matter – I still managed to get some huge wins simply by getting a fair number of them sticky wild symbols.
BONUS PURCHASE
Pragmatic Play knows its players love a bonus purchase facility, and The Dog House Multihold does not disappoint in this regard! The cost to purchase a set of free spins is 100x the normal price per round, which seems very reasonable to me given the huge amount of potential the feature offers. However, I will warn you now; this is a hugely addictive bonus round!
THE DOG HOUSE MULTIHOLD SLOT REVIEW FINAL THOUGHTS
This is a worthy update to both the original Dog House slot and the Megaways version that followed it, and I absolutely love the new bonus round. The increased jackpot of 9,000x is quite a boost above what was available in the first game, and I don’t see too many players returning to that game now that it is available.
