The new – Season of Apex Legends has been available for a few weeks now and by now one thing is pretty clear: the new Legend Seer is much more powerful than it should be. Here, the developers Respawn also agree with the players and therefore published a rather long list of adjustments that are supposed to weaken the new character a bit.
Among other things, Seer’s passive ability has been adjusted a bit. This now comes with a reduced Field of View and is a bit less accurate overall. Also, his Tactical ability no longer acts as a flashbang. His ultimate ability hasn’t changed too much, only the cooldown has been increased by 30 seconds.
Associate live balance designer John Larson has been additionally commented on Twitter about the changes and the current “wallhack meta”. Larson admits that Seer was a bit stronger at release than Respawn had anticipated. Teams playing without the legend felt downright blind.
The Bloodhound and Seer characters have become almost necessary when playing in Apex Legends. (buy now 74,99 € ) wants to climb the higher ranks. Indeed, these two characters have the ability to see opposing legends through walls.
The developers don’t want players to be almost forced to play a certain legend in order to compete with other players. They don’t have an exact solution to the “wallhack meta” yet, but Larson wants to work with the design team on this problem in the long run.
Seer is still a very powerful legend after this patch, but it’s probably not as annoying to fight him now. How exactly the developers plan to tackle the “wallhack meta” we will hopefully see with the next major patches.
