Publisher Activision, which is responsible for the “Call of Duty” series, announced several new pieces of information about the future of CoD in a surprising tweet. These should come as a great surprise to fans of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare”, which will be released in 2019.

For one, development studio Infinity Ward is working on a new spin-off of the “Modern Warfare” series, currently titled only as “Call of Duty 2022.” On the other hand, “Call of Duty Warzone 2” is being developed, i.e. a sequel to the free-to-play battle royale shooter.

What do we know about CoD Modern Warfare 2?

Apart from the announcement, there hasn’t been much information about the two CoD titles. Modern Warfare 2 is a direct sequel to 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and is being handled by the same developer studio, Infinity Ward.

Longtime fans of the CoD series should be very happy with this info, as Modern Warfare is one of the most popular games in the series. The title will also get a completely new engine, which has probably been in the works for a long time.

What info is there about CoD Warzone 2?

This new game engine will also use Warzone 2, which will be known as “Battle Royale revolution” is described. It is said to offer significantly more possibilities than its predecessor, which was released in 2020. A new Sandbox mode rounds off the news about the multiplayer shooter.

When will Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 be released?
