LoL team now makes playoffs after disastrous

G2 has won the playoffs in the European . The team slipped into the loser bracket against Fnatic in the round, but fought back strongly from there to win 12 matches in a row. German player Sergen “Broken Blade” Çelik played a major role in this.

How did the last few years go for ?

G2 Esports dominates Fnatic and Rogue in the playoffs

What happened in the playoffs? As the 4th place team from the regular – Season , G2 Esports faced Fnatic in the so-called Winner’s Bracket. If a team loses there, it slips into the Losers Bracket and can fight its way to the finals again. However, if a team loses in the losers bracket, it is out of the tournament.

Here’s what the distribution looked like at the start of the playoffs in the brackets.

However, the first match in the playoffs was quite one-sided and in favor of Fnatic. They won 3:1 and sent G2 Esports into the losers bracket.

There, however, the team around the superstar Caps really turned up the heat. Especially the experienced jungler Jankos and the German player Broken Blade were convincing.

G2 Esports won 3:0 against Team Vitality, who had built something like the new Superteam 2022. Afterwards they also won 3:0 against Misfits and thus reached a rematch against Fnatic, in which it was about the entry into the final.

Could G2 Esports win this time? Yes, and very clearly with 3:0.

  • In the first match, jungler Jankos impressed with his ganks and secured early kills for his team, which G2 Esports could then on. Overall, they played much more strategically and safely than in recent years.
  • In the second match, midlaner Caps and rookie ADC Flakked were convincing, securing kills early on and controlling the match.
  • Match 3 was by far the closest of the series, but was won by a strong team fight in the final game by G2 Esports. A Dragon Soul steal by Jankos was also an important turning point:

How did it go in the final? The final was played by Team Rogue, who had previously beaten Fnatic 3-2 and defeated G2 Esports in the regular in both duels. Everyone expected Rogue to win, and some even expected G2 to suffer a major defeat.

But things turned out differently. Especially the three veterans Jankos, Caps and Broken Blade showed themselves dominant. While Jankos and Caps dominated in the middle time and again, Broken Blade managed several individual actions, such as this kill against his opponent Odoamme, which happened in the final third match during a clear deficit for G2.

What are the stats after the playoffs? G2 Esports won 12 of their last 12 matches in the playoffs, overall they achieved a statistic of 13 wins and 3 losses, all of which came from Fnatic from the first match.

In terms of KDA, AD Carry Flakked is at the top with an 8.2 – 72 kills, 23 deaths and 114 assists. Broken Blade still ranks 3rd with a KDA of 5.0 (via gol.gg).

Broken Blade wins league in America and Europe

Broken Blade became known in 2018 when he moved to TSM. There, in 2020, he won the Summer Playoffs and participated in the World Championship. In 20201, he returned to Europe and played one – Season for Schalke 04, where he also impressed with his performance, which is why he moved to G2 Esports a year later.

He is one of three players who have won both the American LCS and the European LEC. He could win his next title at the Mid– Season Invitational, which takes place in May. There he will face great opponents like Team T1 with superstar Faker. That dominated the 2021 – Season in Korea:
