Justice League heroes against killer aliens

DC’s comic book hero Green Lantern has been rather luckless with his movie appearances so far. Based on the well to very well reviewed in the USA “Green Lantern: Beware My Power” this could now change. Here is the trailer for the home cinema launch:

In “Green Lantern: Beware My Power”, John Stewart (voice in the original: Aldis Hodge) is the latest incarnation of the superhero. Until now, the man’s purpose in life was to be a sniper in the U.S. Marines. After his surprising discharge from the service, however, he is now faced with the shards of his existence – without a plan for what to do next.

Shortly thereafter, he witnesses a plane crash and comes into possession of an alien ring that gives him supernatural powers. He takes over as a new Green Lantern the task of protecting humanity from all sorts of disasters. What – as quickly becomes apparent – this is urgently needed.

To make matters worse, a group of murderous alien killers have made it their mission to eliminate this Green Lantern after his predecessor. However, the ex-elite soldier is ready to fight back. Together with his new allies, the League members Green Arrow (Jimmi Simpson), Adam Strange (Brian Bloom) and Hawkgirl (Jamie Gray Hyder), he faces the battle against the seemingly overwhelming enemies of mankind from outer space …

From Marvel to DC

The director for “Green Lantern: Beware My Power” was handled by Jeff Wamester, who here directed his second feature-length film for the DC Universe after “Justice Society: World War II.” Previously, he worked for years as a character designer and storyboard artist for various animated TV shows at DC’s biggest competitor Marvel. Among others, Wamester was involved in the series hits “Avengers – Together Invincible!”, “Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy” and “The Ultimate Spider-Man”.

The voices of the original English-language version are provided by some well-known mim*es. They include Aldis Hodge from “Leverage” and the upcoming DC blockbuster “Black Adam”, “Westworld” star Jimmi Simpson, Brian Bloom (“The A-Team”, “Smokin’ Aces”) and Jamie Gray Hyder (“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”). The leader of the bad guys is voiced by Ike Amadi, whom gamers in particular know as a busy voice actor from computer games such as the “Halo” and “Call Of Duty” series and various “Star Wars” titles.
