Midas
Midas is a Legendary Skin for Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode, obtained as a reward for reaching level 100 of the Chapter 2: – Season 2 Battle Pass. He is also part of the Golden Ghost set.
– Season level 100 also unlocks the golden version of Midas. With each additional level, the skin becomes more golden until it is completely golden at level 140.
Cosmetic Overview
Featuring him as a classy mastermind with a suit similar to Rook, a blind right eye similar to Oro and numerous tattoos with golden plating to reveal his reactive Golden Touch. All these features are in contrast to ancient Greek myth about King Midas, a greedy king who could turn anything he touched to gold; however the golden touch’s greed got the better of him.
Reactive Feature
Midas’ gold touch mechanism can turn any weapon or vehicle into gold and even if you die, it will still be gold when dropped and other players can pick it up and it will still have a weapon with a built-in gold wrap.
Selectable Styles
His GHOST edit style features him in a white classy suit with golden skin.
His SHADOW edit style features him in a black assassin suit with golden skin as well.
Golden Agent
The Golden Agent is unlocked instantly when you unlock Midas. The transformation goes like this:
His right hand’s gold begins running down his arm.
Once it reaches his shoulder it starts spreading down the right side of his torso, down to his hip.
Around level 111 the gold continues to spread down his right leg, while spreading to the left.
At Level 113, Midas’ body begins to be covered up in gold until level 125, where his legs are remaining.
At level 116 his jaw is gold.
By level 117 his entire head except for the area around his good (left) eye should be gold, and his left shoulder has started turning gold.
At level 120 his head should be 100% gold, and his right knee has been caught up in the viral spread of gold.
By 121 his right knee should be completely gold.
At level 126, the transformation of his left arm is complete.
Around level 128 his left knee is also completely gold, and all that’s left is his shins and shoes.
Chapter 2 – Season 1
At the tail end of the – Season , furniture in Eye Land slowly turned to gold. This is most likely Midas’ doing, preparing to take over the little island.
Chapter 2 – Season 2
At the start of the – Season , Midas took over Eye Land and formed The Agency, the headquarters of GHOST.
At around halfway during the – Season , Midas began creating a device. It’s intentions were unknown. Later throughout the – Season , it was given the internal name Doomsday Device.
Midas began powering the device through tubes which would connect to the device. You could see them in the lobby, Battle Pass screen, and in his room.
On June 15th, Midas used the device to break the storm, removing it altogether. However, his plans failed and created a massive tsunami in the storm’s place, which ultimately led to the map changes that occured in Chapter 2 – Season 3.
Chapter 2 – Season 3
At the start of the – Season 3 cinematic trailer, Midas is seen stranded on a floating wood floor piece in the water.
Midas is then ran over by a shark, destroying his piece of wood. Ironically, Meowscles was riding the shark. His whereabouts are unknown.
Chapter 2 – Season 4
On October 21st, The Authority was destroyed and turned into The Ruins. Midas, quote un-quote, got his revenge and patrolled the new POI as an undead snapshot of himself.
On November 17th, another version of Midas was introduced. It is Midas with a golden armored suit.
Chapter 2 – Season 5
In the Black Panther Trailer, Midas could be seen, saluting Black Panther, confirming that he is in fact alive.
Chapter 2 – Season 6
In Chapter 2 – Season 6, Midas is confirmed as Jules’ Father. Many had already speculated this but nothing was confirmed until now.
Fortnite is a co-op survival shooter developed by People Can Fly and Epic Games, which gained its popularity through a free-to-play standalone mode based on the Battle Royale genre, Fortnite Battle Royale. The third-person shooter was released worldwide on July 25, 2017, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows. A Chinese version appeared later with restrictions.
Fortnite Battle Royale was released on September 26, 2017. In March 2018, Fortnite Battle Royale was also released for Apple iOS devices as part of an invite event. The Android version of the Battle Royale offshoot was released in early August 2018, and Fortnite Battle Royale was released for Nintendo Switch in June 2018. A version for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 became available on their respective release days.
