Italy has not only buried all the title hopes of the Germans at the FIFAe Nations Cup 2022, but also spoiled the party for the host.

In the quarterfinals, the “Squadra Azzurra” met Denmark, who won 1-0 against Israel in the round of 16 in a razor-thin but commanding manner.

Italy silences Halle

At first, it seemed like a tight affair: Italy’s early 1-0 score was countered by Anders ‘Anders’ Vejrgang with a thumping shot from just over 20 yards into the top left corner to make it 1-1. In the aftermath, the 16-year-old jumped up and gestured ecstatically in the direction of the Danish fans

Next penalty defeat for ‘Nicolas99FC

Already in the round of 16, Argentina struggled with top duo Nicolas ‘Nicolas99FC’ Villalba and Matias ‘Matiasbonnano’ Bonnano, were even behind against the underdog from Canada.

But a 2:1 brought them into the quarterfinals against Sweden. They found after the change to the duo ‘Oliboli” and ‘Optolle’ again to old strength – defeated the Netherlands in the round of 16 with 3:1.

There they continued where they had left off: Surprise favorites. The FIFAe Nations Cup newcomer, after a 0:1 in the first leg, really turned up the heat in the second leg. After an early 1:0, Poland added to their tally in the 71st minute with a Sunday shot from the right side into the top left corner – 2:0.

“Portugal was better than us, but in the end we got the result,” summed up ‘Damie’ after the surprising victory: “We have nothing to lose for tomorrow.”

With Portugal the next favorite fails in the quarterfinals. Poland will meet Sweden in the second semi-final of the FIFAe Nations Cup on Saturday
