FIFA 22: What is Team of the Year?

Team of the Year (TOTY) in FIFA Ultimate Team is an eleven of the best players of the past year. So, just like the Ballon d’Or XI, a selection of a goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders and attackers is put together.

Best of all, the players will receive extremely strong ratings and will enrich just about any team in FUT, making it the true Ultimate Team. Expect ratings in the 94+ range!

Best of all: The community could vote! Even if EA doesn’t miss the chance to have their own fingers in the pie…

FIFA 22 TOTY voting: Vote ran from January 10th to 18th
The voting period started on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 17:00 and ran until January 18, 2022 at 08:59.

EA SPORTS FIFA’s Team of the Year allows fans to support their favorites, cast their vote for their favorite players, and create the ultimate starting eleven from the 80 nominees who performed the strongest in the world of soccer in 2021.

Below you can find all the players that were available for selection this year.

When will the TOTY be available in FIFA 22?

The TOTY promo started on January 21 at 19:00 with the three strikers in FIFA 22, followed by the selected midfielders in the packs on January 23. The defenders and the goalkeeper came on January 25. The complete team could be drawn from January 27 at 19:00. The 12th man and Honourable Mentions came into FUT on January 28.

This means the Team of the Year is now complete in the packs – no more players are expected to arrive until the next promo kicks off.

TOTY FIFA 22: Cristiano Ronaldo is the 12th man
Of course Fut Sheriff could be trusted again with this leak – Cristiano Ronaldo has won against Mohamed Salah and Karim Benzema in the election for the 12th man and is also in the Team of the Year.

It was kind of obvious, right? Not only does he have a huge fan base, but he’s also regularly one of the most popular cards in FIFA. That’s because of his stats, check them out!

TOTY Honourable Mentions – The honorable mentions are here – With Dani Olmo
What was strange for us was the number of Honourable Mentions… in FIFA 21 there were only six… now suddenly there are almost three times as many. Crass. And surprisingly Dani Olmo became SBC on the 2nd of February! Nothing against him, cool kicker and in the year 2021 also really long exaggeratedly well performed. But then he was injured for ages… Very random that he also still comes to it.

FIFA 23 RELEASE – WHAT IS KNOWN SO FAR

FIFA 22 is still in full operation, but in the background the game makers of EA Sports are already working on the next part – FIFA 23 will be released in autumn 2022.
But under which name will the classic game be continued in autumn 2022? As things stand, it is not at all certain that the game will continue to bear the name of the world association FIFA. We have the most important information about FIFA 23 for you, why the game series will get a new name and on which consoles the next part of the soccer simulation will be available.

WHEN WILL FIFA 23 BE RELEASED?

We can’t give you an official launch date for the next part of the FIFA game series yet. EA hasn’t communicated much in this regard yet, so so far we can only assume that FIFA 23 will be released in the period between mid-September and early October 2022, just like its predecessors. In the past years, the latest launch date of a FIFA game was October 06.
