The next showdown SBC in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team is about to start. After the duel in the Dutch Eredivisie, this time it’s the turn of the English Premier League, when Manchster United will meet Liverpool FC this weekend. Scott McTominay vs James Milner.
The last showdown SBC between Sean Klaiber and Doneyll Malen ended with a point for both cards after Ajax and PSV drew 2-2. Now even the next duel is waiting in the wings: Scott McTominay vs James Milner for the top match between Manchester United and Liverpool FC next Sunday.
FIFA 21 FUT Showdown: McTominay vs Millner
So two midfielders from the English Premier League are waiting for us in the third FUT Showdown of the year. Both cards are available in a Squad Building Challenge. So if you want, you can simply get both versions.
The special cards increase in value depending on the result of the match. The player of the winning team gets two points on top, in case of a draw there is one point for both players.
Out of the gate, both central midfielders are worth a total of 85 OVR. James Milner of Liverpool FC is more suited as an attacking ZDM due to his stats and comes in at 91 with the powerhouse chemistry style.
Scott McTominay is more comfortable in the more defensive position and offers better defensive and physical stats accordingly. With Shadow, he comes in at a value of 90 OVR.
In addition to the cheaper price (around 170,000 coins), Manchester United’s current form also speaks in favor of Scott McTominay from Scotland. About 200,000 coins are needed for James Milner, and both SBCs end on January 17 shortly before the start of the match.
FIFA 21 Showdown Scott McTominay SBC Solution
For the Manchester United player’s card, a total of three teams need to be traded in, two of them costing around 40,000 coins, with the third hitting double the price:
- Team with a Manchester United player (83 OVR, minimum 75 chemistry).
- Team with a player from the Premier League (83 OVR, at least 1 TOTW, at least 70 chemistry)
- Team with a TOTW player (84 OVR, at least 70 chemistry)
Team 1: Manchester United
Here we combine three Bundesliga players in goal and defense with a total of six Brazilians, while Carlos Vela and Gonzalo Higuaín from the MLS complete the team.
Team 2: Premier League
Minimally more expensive despite TOTW requirement is the second team. Once again, the goalkeeper and defense come from the Bundesliga. Baptiste Santamaria from the current TOTW 15 serves as our TOTW card, and Higuaín and Vela are also back.
Team 3: Top form
The third team comes in at around 86,000 coins and is mostly from Serie A. Goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski from AC Florence meets the Inform requirement.
FIFA 21 Showdown James Milner SBC Solution
The card of James Milner turns out to be much more expensive in direct comparison and costs almost 200,000 coins. This is due to the increased requirements compared to McTominay:
- Team with a player from Liverpool FC (83 OVR, at least 75 chemistry).
- Team with a player from England (84 OVR, at least 65 chemistry)
- Team with a TOTW player (84 OVR, at least 70 chemistry)
Team 1: Liverpool
Again, we use the MLS duo of Higuaín and Vela, with the rest of the team coming from Ajax Amsterdam, as well as the Premier League. As a Liverpool player, we use Xherdan Shaqiri.
Team 2: National Duty
For the second team, which costs around 86,000 coins, we use a Bundesliga team. Jamie Vardy fulfills the national requirement in the forward line, and we line up teammate Kasper Schmeichel next to him for chemistry reasons.
Team 3: Top Form
Team 3 is just as expensive as the second team, but it looks completely different. Here we combine Serie A and La Liga with each other. Omar Al Soma from TOTW 14 is used as the inform card.
FIFA Squad Building Challenges (short SBC)
The FIFA Squad Building Challenges (SBC for short) are about putting together a team according to certain specifications. They are an important part of FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) and bring coins, valuable packs or special cards when fulfilled.
For the most part, you’ll have to line up eleven players that you have in your club and then send this squad off. These players will then disappear from your club. In return, you’ll receive a reward, such as a pack or a special card. As with FIFA 19, FIFA 20 and FIFA 21 we will report about the latest SBCs for FIFA 22 here and help you to judge if it is worth to complete a challenge.
START WITH THE SQUAD BUILDING CHALLENGES
In Squad Building Challenges (SBCs), you can use your player items to build unique teams based on various challenge conditions. You can then submit these to receive bonuses.
Here’s how:
- From the FIFA 22 main menu, select the FIFA Ultimate Team section.
- In the home page section, select Squad Building Challenges and call them up.
- Select the challenge you want to complete. They are grouped by category.
Create a team.
- Using items from your club or from the transfer market, build a team that meets the challenge conditions. Usually this is a mix of player quality, team chemistry, team value, nationalities, leagues and clubs.
Master the Challenge to submit your team and receive bonuses.
- All SBC submissions cannot be undone. Once you complete an SBC, the submitted items will be permanently removed from your club in exchange for bonuses. Our consultants cannot restore submitted items.
- For some SBCs, you will only have a limited amount of time to complete them. Once a challenge has expired, you will no longer be able to submit a team.
More details about SBCs
- Some SBCs consist of multiple challenges with individual bonuses and a larger overall completion bonus. Other challenges are single challenges.
- Some SBCs are repeatable. You have a chance to get different bonuses for each team submission, but you might also get the same bonus.
- SBCs are available in all FIFA 22 versions, but they can vary depending on the platform. Bonuses can also vary from platform to platform.
