: Modern Warfare 3

In the campaign, the Africa Militia appears in the missions Resurfaced and Back to Sender. It also appears in three special forces missions. In multiplayer, you always play against the PMC, and the announcer during the game is Watanabe. In Survival, some of the opponents in early rounds consist of members of the Africa Militia.

The exact origin of the group is unknown, but the members are from Somalia and Sierra Leone. Based on some dialogue, you learn that the militia has been drawing a mass murder across Africa, in Resurfaced you can even see some members dousing innocent civilians with gasoline and setting them on fire. The Africa Militia collaborated with Makarov and helped him bring chemical weapons to Europe.

In certain respects, the African militia can be compared to the Brazilian militia:

  • Both helped Makarov in indirect ways. The leaders of the Brazilian militia provided him with weapons and ammunition, and the African militia helped him bring the chemical weapons to Europe.
  • Both factions only appear in two missions in the campaign; access to the Brazilian militia and The Hornet’s Nest, the Africa Militia in Reappeared, and Return to Sender.
  • Both leaders can be killed by the player; Waraabe in Return to Sender and Rojas at the start of The Hornet‘s Nest mission.

Info

    • Even in the missions set in Somalia, members of the militia speak Krio, a language native to Sierra Leone.
    • In multiplayer, they’re the only faction that doesn’t have a stealth suit. Originally there was supposed to be one, but that was ultimately discarded.
    • Prior to the release of Modern Warfare 3, the Afrika Militia used the Spetznas emblem as a placeholder.
    • They are the only multiplayer faction in the Modern Warfare trilogy not to wear gauntlets in the first person.
    • If you kill a member with a headshot while they are wearing a hat, the hat will fall off.

Call of Duty

The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
