Team Information:
TNC Predator is a Filipino multi-gaming organization known mainly for its Dota 2 roster. We will talk about it in the following material.
First impression
First appearing on Esports radars back in 2013, TNC Predator was then called TNC Pro Team and included:
- Elesihihi
- Primo
- fromjour
- eron
- Tushey
At that time, the club was not known for stability, so the composition changed frequently. In the year TNC appeared, they participated in several local tournaments, but they did not show very good results.
The most successful performance in 2013 was the 4th place in the small local tournament GMPGL Philippines (- Season March 1) for participation, in which the team earned $25. After that, the team disappears from sight for a year to return to 2015.
First attempts on the road to TOP
In 2015, TNC participates in more prestigious tournaments. The team plays in the GEST Sea Cup, Mineski Pro-Gaming League, and other local championships.
Also in 2015, the team tries its hand at qualifying for The International 2015, but the team could not climb higher than 4th place. However, that did not stop TNC.
After qualifying for The International, the team continues to participate in various tournaments. TNC placed 3rd in SEA Dragon Battle – Season 2, 3rd in the South East Asia Dota 2 Championship, and 3rd to 4th in BTS Southeast Asia .
In October 2015, they were literally one card away from qualifying for the 2015 World Cyber Arena.
In the same month, TNC failed to qualify for The Frankfurt Major 2015 and The Summit 4.
But luck caught up with TNC a little later. One month after TNC failed to qualify for the above tournaments, TNC becomes the winner of the third – Season of Sea Dragon Battle. In 2016, the club management announces changes in the squad. The qualification for the 2016 Shanghai Major includes:
- Raven
- Teehee
- sam_H
- Ey you
- xLucky
Unfortunately, the changes in the squad did not help the Filipinos qualify for the first major tournament in the tag’s history. But the club had no intention of giving up.
In February 2016, TNC BTS Southeast Asia # 3 champion, after which they actively participated in various tournaments.
In March, the team finished 2nd in the qualifiers for WePlay! Dota 2 League – Season 3, ESL One Manila Philippine Qualifier. In the same March, the team finished 3rd in the qualifiers for EPICENTER: Southeast Asian Qualifiers. After that, it closed the top three places in the SEA Kappa Invitational – Season 1.
In April 2016, TNC finished 3rd in BTS Southeast Asia – No. 4 , after which they remained one step away from The Manila Major 2016. Nevertheless, in 2016, TNC managed to enter The International 2016. By the way, he then played instead of Teehee DeMoN, xLucky was replaced by Kuku. With such a squad, TNC managed to finish 5th to 8th in its debut for The International.
In January 2017, TNC won the World Electronic Sports Games 2016, after which they won the StarLadder i-League StarSeries – Season 3 SEA Qualifier.
On StarLadder itself, the team finished in 3-4th place.
In March 2017, TNC qualified for The Kiev Major 2017 and in April they finished 9th-16th there.
In May 2017, the team placed 2nd at StarLadder i-League Invitational – Season 2 and 3rd at Galaxy Battles.
Before qualifying for The International, ryOyr left the team. The place of the deceased player was taken in 1437.
With the new player, TNC managed to reach The International 2017 where they placed 9th to 12th.
The end of the – Season went well for TNC. The team took 1st place at China Top 2017 in November 2017 and 2nd place at MDL Macau in December.
In January 2018, TNC was renamed and became TNC Predator. Around the same time, 1437 left the team and Armel took his place. TNC played with this lineup until September 18.
They finished 5th-6th at Galaxy Battles II: Emerging Worlds, 9th-12th at ESl One Genting 2018, 5th-8th at The Bucharest Major, and 4th at Dota 2 Asia Champiosnhip 2018.
Dota 2
Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena title from Valve. The successor to the extremely popular Warcraft 3 modification DotA (Defense of the Ancients), Dota 2 was the company’s first strategy game and was released on the download platform Steam on July 9, 2013. The game is a free-to-play title that can be played completely free of charge and is financed through in-game microtransactions, similar to Team Fortress 2.
Dota 2 is – unlike other big MOBA titles like League of Legends – free to play with all heroes. However, game items can be purchased in the Dota 2 store, but all of them have no effect on the gameplay. Only cosmetic items like different skins for the heroes can be purchased. Just like in Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Portal 2, it is possible to create your own content via the Steam Workshop.
