First impression
The first mention of the alliance organization was in April 2013, but actually a little earlier. The idea to create a separate team, which would include only Swedish players, came in 2012 after a not very successful performance at The International 2012 with Team Zenith on Loda.
Around the same time No Tidehunter appeared, where s4, AdmiralBulldog, EternalEnvy, Black ^ and Kizzles then played. Later, Loda joined No Tidehunter together with another Dota veteran, Akke. In April 2013, Loda fulfilled his dream and formed a team with 5 Swedish players. The first lineup of the alliance included:
- Loda
- s4
- AdmiralBulldog
- Akke
- EGM
- Later, these five become the strongest team in the world.
The first test for the squad was their performance at DreamHack Invitational 2013, where the team showed itself in all its glory and won the championship. Later, the five Swedes won the 4th – Season of the Premier League and the 1st – Season of the WePlay Dota2 League. This was followed by an unsuccessful performance at the Demon Edge Cup, where the club finished 5th to 8th. However, in the same month, the team managed to redeem itself in the fifth – Season of the G-1 Champions League.
In June, the team took first place at DreamHack Summer 2013. A month later, it won the StarLadder StarSeries – Season 6. In the same month, Alliance won the Premier League – Season 5. The biggest challenge awaits the club – The International 2013.
From the beginning of the tournament Alliance announced their seriousness of intentions. The Swedish team did not give their rivals any chances in the group and finished with a score of 14: 0. In the playoffs, the dominance of the Swedes did not end. Loda defeated LGD with 2: 0, DK with 2: 1 and NaVi with 2: 0.
In the grand final, Alliance met again with Natus Vincere. The TI2013 Grand Final will be remembered as the most epic confrontation in Dota in years. In an extremely tense match, Alliance took a 3: 2 victory to secure a spot in the Aegis of Champions.
After TI3, the team continued to show its usual pace and manner. At first it paid off and Loda and company continued to take prizes. After the end of TI3 and before the start of TI4, Alliance won Fragbite Masters, Dota 2 Champions League – Season , DreamHack Bucharest 2014 and DreamLeague – Season 1. Before The International 2014 itself, the team finished 3rd in Dota 2 Champions League – Season 3 and 3-4- 4th in ESL One Frankfurt 2014.
In July 2014, it was time for The International 2014. Alliance was approaching the tournament as last year’s champion, which made the pressure extremely high. Perhaps it was one of the main reasons why Alliance completely and utterly failed The International 4 in 11th and 12th place. After that, the “golden” five Swedes could not recover.
In September 2014, s4 and EGM left the Alliance list, beginning a period of constant reshuffling that lasted more than a year.
Whirlwind of reshuffles
After s4 and EGM departed for Alliance, problems began. The team was trying to replace the departed players, so they tried many options. In January 2015, Pajkatt and Mynuts joined the lineup, and EGM returned with them. AdmiralBulldog, however, became active. Later, Mynuts was replaced by Niqua.
In March 2015, 7ckngMad joined the team, and in April, Niqua, who had recently joined, left. Constant replacements led Alliance to the fact that the team did not participate in The International in 2015 and therefore continued to search for optimal roster options.
In December 2015, the old guard decided to reunite and try their hand at the next – Season .
Loda, Akke, EGM, s4, and AdmiralBulldog got back together, this time for the last time.
Alliance played a little less than a year in this “new-old” lineup. The old guard initially showed excellent results: The team finished 1st in the 2015 World Cyber Arena and won in the StarLadder I-League StarSeries – Season 1. Here, however, the loud victories ended, and at The International 2016 the team finished 9th-12th After that, AdmiralBulldog and Akke left the team. Later, the places of the deceased players were taken by Handsken, Limmp and Jonasoomfan.
The results were still far from the achievements of the old days. In December 2016, Alliance took 1st place at WePlay Invitational #6, after spending the entire next year trying to

Dota 2
Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena title from Valve. The successor to the extremely popular Warcraft 3 modification DotA (Defense of the Ancients), Dota 2 was the company’s first strategy game and was released on the download platform Steam on July 9, 2013. The game is a free-to-play title that can be played completely free of charge and is financed through in-game microtransactions, similar to Team Fortress 2.
Dota 2 is – unlike other big MOBA titles like League of Legends – free to play with all heroes. However, game items can be purchased in the Dota 2 store, but all of them have no effect on the gameplay. Only cosmetic items like different skins for the heroes can be purchased. Just like in Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Portal 2, it is possible to create your own content via the Steam Workshop.
