The scene of “Dota 2” is currently slightly confused. The reason: the mathematics. It seems that the team of the Spanish-speaking Valve site used the unofficial ranking at Liquipedia.net. The most important eSports encyclopedia in the world enjoys such a good reputation that many organizers rely purely on the information noted there even for their own competitions. In this case, however, the final results in Valve’s own account and that of Liquipedia differed.
It should be noted that Valve did not act arbitrarily here: If you look back at the rankings of previous years, it quickly becomes clear that the developer has always calculated scores in this way. Nevertheless, the misunderstanding has caused confusion worldwide.

The whole issue is only so complicated because Valve penalizes teams for actions such as player changes during a – Season with percentage point deductions – this creates scores with decimals, which is actually unusual in ranking systems of eSports competitions.
Outsiders now has to recommend itself for the annual finals via the regional qualification, Fnatic is spared this hurdle.
