Team Information:
OpTic Gaming is an American esports organization. First of all, the club is known for its Call of Duty division, but later the organization’s honor was defended by the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2 squads.
Today it’s all about the CSGO unit and will be discussed.
First impression
OpTic first debuted in CSGO in January 2016. Then the organization signed the composition of the ex-conquest, which included the following:
– – ShahZaM
– Daps
– EILEN
– NAF
– Stanislaw
Almost immediately after the signing, the newly formed OpTic rushed into battle. The results were not long in coming.
The first – Season and constant “swing”.
The first tournament for the newfound team was the ELEAGUE Road to Vegas championship, where OpTic showed excellent play and eventually became the champion of the competition.
This was followed by a performance at the Americas Minor Championship – Columbus 2016, the MLG Columbus 2016 – Americas Last Chance Qualifier and the IEM – Season X WC – North America. All of these performances ended in the 3-4th line for OpTic.
In late February, OpTic finished 5th-8th in the DreamHack Masters Malmo 2016 qualifier and in March they were selected for the ninth CEVO Gfinity Pro League – Season .
Big performances started in April. Then the team finished in 3rd place at ESL Pro League – Season 3 – North America. The result was not bad, but it led to a replacement: ShahZaM left the team and Mixwell took his place. With a newly arrived player, OpTic finished 5th-6th in CEVO Pro League – Season 9 and 5th-6th in ESL Pro League – Season 3 – Finals. Later, OpTic won the Americas Minor Championship – Cologne 2016, which allowed them to play in the organization’s first major tournament.
At the tournament itself, the team finished 13th-16th, which was a complete failure and led to a number of replacements within the team.
Stanislaw left the team first and was replaced by Tarik. Later, Devilwalk left as head coach after coaching the team for a little over two months.
After failing in Cologne, the team managed to come together in the following championships. The team finished 3rd-4th at CyberPowerPC Summer 2016 Pro Series, 2nd at iBUYPOWER Invitational 2016 – Fall, 4th at ESL Pro League – Season 4 – North America.
Despite some successful performances, the atmosphere in the team left a lot to be desired. This led to Daps leaving the team in September. However, this did not stop OpTic from ending the – Season with a good result: The team won the Northern Arena 2016 – Montreal and the ELEAGUE – Season 2. OpTic also managed to finish 2nd in the Esports Championship Series – Season 2 – Finals.
However, the loud start did not save the team from a disastrous start to the 2017 – Season .
– Season 2017
The beginning of 2017 was really terrible for OpTic. The team finished 12th-14th at ELEAGUE Major: Atlanta 2017, 9th-12th at DreamHack Masters Las Vegas 2017, 11th-12th Intel Extreme Masters XI – World Championship. Obviously, a series of such failed speeches led to a series of changes.
First Stanislaw left the team, replaced by JasonR, and later Jason himself was replaced by Hazed. OpTic tried to stabilize the game until August 2017, but the best result during that time was a victory at the not-so-prestigious CyberPowerPC Extreme Gaming Series – Spring 2017 Invitational.
RUSH and Tarik leave the team in August. The departure of the main players brought the organization to dramatic changes. In August 2017, the club management decided to sign a pan-European roster. The new roster includes:
– – friberg
– allu
– magisk
– mix well
– Hs
By the end of the year, OpTic finished 3rd in Europe Minor Championship – Boston 2018, won ESL Pro League – Season 6 – North America, 3-4th in iBUYPOWER Masters 2017 and 2nd in Esports Championship Series – Season 4 – North America. In addition, several tournaments were played at the same time, where OpTic took the 5th-6th line: we are talking about Intel Extreme Masters XII – Oakland, ESL Pro League – Season 6 – Finals and Esports Championship Series – Season 4 – Finals.
– Season 2018
In the next few years, OpTic actively experimented with the lineup and participated in various championships. However, special heights could not be reached.
2018 began with attempts to qualify for major tournaments such as DreamHack Mastares Marseille 2018 and Intel Extreme Masters XIII. In qualifying tournaments, OpTic finished 2nd and 3-4th respectively. After that, Mixwell and Magisk left the team, joining the team at the end of 2017.
After the departure of the main players, OpTic again signed a new lineup. This time the team consisted of old and new players: Stanislaw, ShahZaM, K0nfig, Cajunb and Gade.
With this lineup, the team finished 3rd in ESL Pro League – Season 7 – North America, which became one of the best performances of the year. However, this did not help to maintain the composition.
In April, Stanislaw and ShahZaM left the team and their place was taken by Snappi and JUGI. Attempts to penetrate the TOP continued.
The renewed OpTic squad finished 2nd at DreamHack Open Summer 2018 and also reached the finals of the European Championship – London 2018.
Prior to the Major tournament, OpTic finished 9th-12th at DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018. The Major itself was a disaster for OpTic: the team showed an extremely weak game for which they finished 17th to 19th overall.
The failure was followed by another roster change: Gade left and Niko came. The change affected the results, which improved for a while.
At the end of the year, the team finished 3rd-4th in StarSeries & i-League CS: GO – Season 6, 2nd in GG.BET Shuffle and cs_summit 3. The team also won ESL Pro League – Season 8 – Europe: Relegation and qualified for the European Championship – Katowice 2019.
– Season 2019 or sunset OpTic
The 2019 OpTic – Season began with a refreshed Danish lineup. It includes: k0nfig, cajunb, snappi, JUGi, refresh.
Almost immediately, however, the team had failed. The team finished 7th-8th in Europe-Europe, missing the chance to break through to the 2019 Major in Katowice.
In March, OpTic slowly began to “fade away.” First, Cajunb left the team and was replaced by MSL. JUGi also left a bit later. Snappi finished third, then Cajunb returned to the team.
Shuffles, substitutions and poor performances led to the purchase of OpTic Immortals Gaming Club.
Organization and awards
OpTic was created by Hector Rodriguez and Ryan Musselman. The former also served as CEO.
OpTic was sponsored by GameStop.
During the team’s existence, CSGO rosters have earned the organization over $1,300,000.
CS:GO
CS:GO Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO for short) is a computer game from the genre of online tactical shooters. It was developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment and is the fourth part of the Counter-Strike series. The game was released on August 21, 2012 for Windows, Linux, macOS, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A release for the PlayStation 3 in Europe failed to materialize for unknown reasons. Global Offensive achieved a Metascore of 83 points. Since September 14, 2017, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has also been available in China via the Perfect World client. In December 2018, the game was switched to a free-to-play model, which drew criticism.
