Call of Duty 2022: What’s been leaked about Modern Warfare II so far

As with any COD title, there are a few leaks months beforehand as far as content is concerned. We summarize what has already been unearthed.

Every year Activision tries to land the next smash hit in the Call of Duty series. This time, it’s supposed to be the successor to the Modern Warfare reboot in 2019. There is no info yet, so it’s all conjecture from sources close to the developer.

No Country for Old Men vs. Sicario

Since Modern Warfare 2019 was developed by Infinity Ward, the development studio is also involved in the sequel. However, instead of focusing on terrorism in our country, this time the journey will be to Colombia. Task Force 141 intervenes in the drug war raging there and fights the resident cartels. As templates for the scenario, the classic “No Country for Old Men” and “Sicario” have served.

In the campaign, there will also be a morale system like in Red Dead Redemption. That is depending upon decisions, which one makes, the public reputation rises or falls. And thus also the behavior of the NPC’s changes opposite the player. And here, too, there should be an innovation: According to the rumors, IW has given the AI more human and less predictable behavior. For example, they are supposed to limp after being shot in the leg.

Two new game modes

DMZ

In addition to the single player, there should be fresh content for the multiplayer. One mode of it is supposed to be the Demilitarized Zone (short: DMZ). The speed is supposed to be reduced here and the game is supposed to be a bit more tactical. The game is played on a map that is assembled from the classics Terminal, Favela and Afghan, among others. The goal is to complete missions and then evacuate.

Attacker vs. defender

This mode is intended to be used by Rainbow Six Siege be inspired. Two teams compete against each other. The goal is to thwart the missions of the opposing team. Following the Ubisoft model, there will also be barricades, destructible environments and traps.

Release also for the Old Gen

The release period should probably be on the November 2022 lay. And with this part, probably the last Call of Duty will be released on PS4 and Xbox One.

Former developer calls for revival instead of replay

In the face of the new part has now Robert Bowling, former creative strategist at Infinity Ward spoke out on Twitter. In his opinion, Call of Duty doesn’t need repetitions, but a revival. It’s not enough to simply release a new part and rehash the tried-and-true formula.

We used to treat our Spplayers like a community rather than consumers. We involved them for map feedback and not market feedback.” Bowling said.

He goes on to write that his former colleagues no longer cared about player satisfaction. Instead, the company’s profit would be the priority. I’m sure most gamers would agree with that. After all, it only takes one look at the social media platforms to see the dissatisfaction of the players.

What do you think of the leaks? And what do you think about Bowling’s statement? Feel free to write us in the comments!

Did you know that ……. ???

Armies Call of Duty – Ghosts

The Ghosts are an elite unit from Call of Duty: Ghosts. They play a primary starring role in the campaign. Their arch-enemy is their former leader Gabriel Rorke. The story goes that 60 soldiers defended a hospital to protect the patients. However, the soldiers were completely outmatched as hundreds of enemy soldiers marched up and shot 45 of the soldiers on the first day. The enemy soldiers knew that the remaining 15 could not survive another day. The 15 survivors knew this too and that is why they designated one to secretly evacuate the patients during the night. The rest hid among the corpses and waited for the enemy to come. Their faces and clothes were all covered with blood and sand, this mixture formed a veil and was the perfect camouflage. They waited for the enemy to march again and they rose from the haze. When they ran out of bullets, they fought with their knives, when the blades became dull, they fought with their bare hands. These 14 survivors then triumphed over their opponents and became the Ghosts.

Heroes Call of Duty – Archer (Modern Warfare 2)

Archer was a sniper of Task Force 141 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Archer appears only in the mission Lose Ends as a member of Sniper Team One, with whom he provides fire support for the Strike Team, consisting of Roach and Ghost. He and his partner Toad deliver an excellent performance, supporting the ground team with sniper rifles, even taking out two armored trucks that were trying to escape from Vladimir Makarov’s hideout with Javelin missiles. His fate is unknown, maybe he escaped back to the original LZ, maybe Shepherd’s men got him, or maybe he went into hiding and is trying to draw attention away from himself.

Weapons Call of Duty-Olympia

The Olympia is a double-barreled shotgun from Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II. The Olympia can often be found in the Payday mission, where it’s also strong in some places, but it suffers from the same drawbacks as in multiplayer. The short-range and the permanent need to reload makes players on higher difficulty levels more likely to leave the weapon behind and look for something to fight at a longer distance.

Maps Call of Duty – Firing Range

Firing Range is a small multiplayer map from Call of Duty: Black Ops. It is set in a military training facility in Cuba. The map is also present in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. On Firing Range, fights mostly occur in a narrow or medium space, so submachine guns, assault rifles and light machine guns are best suited. If you are defending a building, shotguns are also recommended. Sniper rifles are hard to use because the map is so small. There are two main buildings that the two teams will probably try to take, and there is a tower in the middle. The wooden house is especially popular and a frequently used spot, while the tower is great for camping. The two teams spawn dangerously close to each other, so a well-placed grenade can secure the first kill. Claymores and motion detectors are a must for defensive players, as you’ll be constantly attacked by the other team. Simply running into the other team is a rather stupid idea, as sprinting and automatic fire are not known to mix well. Snipers are not often seen due to the size of the map, but a sniper with a sniper plus variable zoom can support his team if he stays in the background. For example, he can defend objects, like Bomb A, which is right in front of the tower when you play Domination. Bulletproof vest is a useful extra when playing game modes like Demolition Command, because thanks to the open nature of the map, hectic games full of explosions often occur.

Camouflage Call of Duty – olive

Olive gives the weapon a monochromatic, slightly green camouflage. If you do it on weapons that are already slightly green like the AUG or the G11, the camouflage makes almost no difference. The camouflage is often seen in combat training, especially with a faction in which the player plays. Attaching them to weapons with wood sections, like the AK-47 or M14, transforms the wood into a synthetic art form.

Fraction Call of Duty Marine Raiders

The Marine Raiders are a USMC infantry unit featured in Call of Duty: World at War.
