A nasty bug has been wreaking havoc in Apex Legends for almost 2 weeks now, locking out the game’s best players. A bug fix takes time, however, explain the developers.
This is the bug in question: It is related to the new maximum level of 500. If you have reached this level, you can now be kicked out of the game and can no longer log in. The error message “Server Shutting down – Internal Server error” appears for affected players.
We already reported about this bug on January 12, but there is still no solution. On reddit, Respawn now explains why the bug is taking so long to fix.
Players are angry – developer has understanding
This is the situation around the bug: A few days ago Respawn made public that they had a fix for the bug and it was ready. However, the fix didn’t seem to have any effect. Players are still locked out.
Now the mood in the forums is negative. It is especially annoying that loyal players are affected. After all, you have to invest many hours in Apex Legends to reach the maximum level 500. So the frustration is great when you simply can’t play one of your favorite games anymore because of a stupid bug.
Now the developer revealed that: Under one of the numerous threads addressing this issue, developer Rayme Vinson now spoke out and said, “I absolutely understand your frustration, but it’s a high priority with us. This kind of thing is complicated and can easily be exacerbated. So there’s a lot of triple checking going on. Hopefully there will be good news soon, and you’re right, it’s about some of the most active players! It’s just not right.”
So the situation around the bug seems to be complicated and needs to be checked multiple times.
However, the affected players will probably have to wait a bit longer. They still have to switch to accounts that are not yet at level 500.
Those who get to level 500 may be affected by the bug
When can you expect a fix? That is currently still completely unclear. It’s safe to assume that Respawn will bring the solution into the game via hotfix, since it affects the most active players. Another option would be to include the fix in the big – Season 4 update, which is expected on February 4.
This player is probably not affected by the bug. He was playing Apex Legends on an airport monitor:
