Those responsible at Microsoft have revealed which new releases “Xbox Game Pass” subscribers can look forward to in February 2022. We have all the known additions and departures for you!
The Xbox Game Pass is currently the talk of the town. After all, Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard… also has something to do with expanding the popular subscription service even further in the future. However, it will still be a little while before we can welcome Call of Duty, Diablo, Warcraft and Starcraft in Game Pass. The deal will probably not be finalized until the summer of 2023.
New releases in February 2022 – Part 1
Of course, this doesn’t mean that there won’t be new games for Xbox Game Pass every month. The new releases for February 2022 were announced today, February 1.
- February 3, 2022 – Contrast (Cloud and Console: In this 2D/3D platformer, you’ll be immersed in a surreal, dreamlike world that could have come from the 1920s – inspired by vaudeville and film noir, set to atmospheric jazz.
- February 3, 2022 – Dreamscaper (Cloud, Console and PC): You can expect an endlessly replayable action roguelike with a waking/dreaming gameplay cycle. Dive into the subconscious at night and face your nightmares. During the day, explore the city of Redhaven, build relationships and unlock permanent upgrades to tackle the next dream stronger than ever.
- February 3 – Telling Lies (Cloud, Console and PC): Telling Lies is an investigative thriller with a non-linear storyline that unfolds in secretly recorded video conversations. You are given an anonymous laptop that contains a stolen NSA database of footage. The recordings cover two years in the private lives of four people connected by a shocking incident -. go here for the PC Games review.
- February 10 – Defeat (Game Preview) (Cloud, Console and PC): In this physics-based building game, you’ll use the craziest medieval siege engines to put your enemies to flight in the 54 levels of the single-player campaign or in multiplayer mode. There is also a level editor.
- February 10 – CrossfireX (Console): The multiplayer shooter Crossfire has been enormously successful in Asia for many, many years. Now the developers want to score here in the West with Crossfire X’s single-player campaign.
New releases in February 2022 – part 2
- February 10 – Edge of Eternity (Cloud, Console and PC): We already played the JRPG from France at release and were torn. We were especially enthusiastic about the look of the game world, with the dynamic day, night and weather changes, and the soulful music tracks by Mitsuda. The turn-based battles are also fun, and the leveling up of weapons and the associated unlocking of new crystal slots is motivating. It’s just a pity that the character progression is otherwise quite simple, and that you fight against the same enemy types far too often. And as great as the zones look in parts, the facial expressions and animations of the characters seem unnatural. But make sure to see for yourself!
- February 10 – Skul: The Hero Slayer (Cloud, Console and PC): Roguelike systems, countless playable characters and gigantic bosses await you in this 2D action platformer.
- February 10 – The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom (Cloud, Console and PC): What a game title. And what is it about? About a semi-open-world RPG in which you fight hordes of monsters and zombies to ensure humanity’s survival in the post-apocalypse. Teenagers Jack, Quint, June and Dirk face the infested streets of the small town of Wakefield to steal the Staff of Doom from Malondre.
- February 14 – Ark: Ultimate Survivor Edition (Cloud, Console and PC): If you’ve never tried the survival game Ark before, you can do so now! The dinosaurs alone make it worth a try.
- February 14 – Infernax (Cloud, Console and PC): Action RPG with platformer vibes confronts you with challenging castle dungeons, countless boss fights and decisions that affect the end of your adventure.
