WoW WotLK Classic: Naxxrama’s spider wings

World of Warcraft veterans may still remember # as the final raid of the vanilla version of the game. At the time an extremely difficult raid that hardly any players could complete while it was still relevant, Blizzard’s developers decided to bring a remake in Wrath of the Lich King and make it significantly more accessible than the original version. The classic 40-player version of Naxxramas is no longer available in Wrath of the Lich King Classic, as it will be permanently closed with the release of the expansion.

Introduction

Players can in Naxxramas Tier 7 equipment receive, with the 25-player version containing the “Brave” version of the Tier 7 sets such as the Brave Scourge Heir (Death Knight) battle armor with item level 213, and the 10-player version containing the weaker “Heroic” version such as the Heroic Scourge Heir (Death Knight) battle armor with item level 200.

The raid includes 15 bosses and culminates in a battle against Arthas’ right-hand man, the Archlich Kel’Thuzad himself! Unlike other raids you’re familiar with, Naxxramas is a nonlinear raid that consists of 4 wings which players can tackle in any order, with a final wing only becoming available once the first 4 wings have been completed.

For the 25 player version should the raid from 3 tanks (2 with DPS offspec for most fights), 6-7 healers and 14-16 DPS (damage classes). Rare or epic pieces from craftsmen and heroic Northrend dungeons, respectively, are recommended as starter gear.

Unlike the level 60 Ur version. no Reconciliation process Required to enter the raid. The only thing needed is a flying mount or alternatively a warlock ready to haul your lazy butt to the entrance of the flying necropolis! The easiest way to enter Naxxramasis to take an air cab to the Dragon’s Waste to take – namely the Solid Winter Guard for the alliance or Gallgrimm for the Horde. From there you only have to fly a short distance to the east, where the flying necropolis hovers nearby.

Naxxramas – Spider Wings

The Spider wing is the simplest wing in Naxxramas. It includes 3 bosses, with the first two bosses having multiple servants with them. This part of Naxxramas is not very demanding in terms of equipment or raid composition, and is therefore particularly suitable for item upgrades.

Anub’Rekhan, one of Azjol’Nerub’s finest spider lords, was brought under control by the Scourge when he and his commander, Anub’Arak, were ultimately defeated by the Lich King many years ago. It is said that he was the most loyal of Anub’Arak’s commanders. — Commander Eligor Morningbringer

Loot

Capabilities

Impaling
An attack that randomly hits a player in the raid and anyone in a line between the player and Anub’Rekhan. It does 6,000 to 7,000 damage to the players while throwing them into the air, which adds about 40% fall damage.

Corpse Carabou
Whenever the dead body of one of the crypt guards (or players) is in the room, Anub’Rekhan can make beetles burst out of them. These disperse and attack random players. The ability is used randomly.

Locust Swarm
Every 70-120 seconds, Anub’Rekhan casts an Area of Effect (AoE) spell with a radius of about 30 meters around him, and has only 60% of his running speed during this time. Those who get this debuff receive a ‘damage over time’ (DoT) spell that ticks every 2 seconds for about 1,500 damage. The debuff prevents players from using spells and abilities. This debuff can stack up to 99 times. Each time Locust Swarm is cast, a new Crypt Guard spawns.

Crypt Guards
At the beginning of the battle stand 2 crypt guards at Anub’Rekhan. You have the ability Columns and one Poison debuff (acid spit), which ticks for 500 damage per stack. Furthermore, they cast a AoE spider web, which prevents players from moving and they have a Enrage (Frenzy) With few hit points.

Battle sequence

  • 3 Tanks run up to Anub’Rekhan and the crypt guards and pull them into position. Anub’Rekhan is pulled to the north of the room and the two crypt guards to the left side.
  • The guards should be killed as quickly as possible so that the debuff does not stack too high. Additionally, they can be stunned (Stun) to keep the damage low.
  • After that, the raid should spread out in a small semicircle around Anub’Rekhan to keep the impaling damage as low as possible and do as much damage as possible on him.
  • Mages, or any AoE classes in general, should be ready to bomb away the scarabs at any time.
  • After a certain amount of time, Anub’Rekhan begins to Locust swarm to take effect. This is the signal for all melee classes to move to a safe place on the left of the room and the signal for the respective tank to run away.
  • At the beginning of the spell, a new crypt guard spawns. The boss is kited in a semicircle to the other side of the room while most of the raid kills the guard. Druids can escape AoE damage with Spurt, Warriors with Intervene on a player, and Hunters with Aspect of the Pack.
  • When Anub’Rekhan arrives on the other side, the casting of Locust Swarm stops. When the Crypt Guard is down, the raid can do damage to Anub’Rekhan again and the described process starts again after about 90 seconds when the next Locust Swarm is cast.

Loot

Capabilities

Poison Lightning Salvo

This spell hits the 10 players closest to Faerlina, dealing about 4,000 damage and a DoT that ticks every 2 seconds for another 2,000 damage (can be dispelled). Widow’s Embrace (Disciples of Naxxramas spell) prevents this spell from being cast for 30 seconds.

Rain of Fire
A rain of fire is randomly cast on players in combat. This deals about 4,000 damage and lasts for 6 seconds, with a radius of about 10 meters.

Frenzy
This ability is used by her every 60 to 80 seconds. It increases physical damage by 150%, her attack speed increases by 50%, and she gets bigger. She will hit the tank for ~20,000 damage during this time. Widow’s Embrace will prevent this ability from being used for 60 seconds if it is in Enrage for a short time. If it should be used before then, the casting of the spell will be delayed for 30 seconds.

Disciple of Naxxramas

There are 4 disciples at the beginning of the battle. These are off-tanked or turned into sheep. When Faerlina is about to enrage, the disciples can be taken over by a priest and have the widow’s embrace spell. This should be used immediately near the boss to remove or prevent the frenzy. Furthermore, it prevents the use of Poison Lightning Volley for 30 seconds. Since there are only 4 disciples, the fight cannot last longer than ~4 minutes and 40 seconds.

Disciple of Naxxramas
There are 2 followers at the beginning of the fight. You should just kill them at the start so they don’t pose another risk to the raid.

Combat sequence

  • 3 tanks are ideal here for the battle. One for the boss, the second for the disciples and the third for the followers. The latter are simply killed quickly at the beginning of the fight.
  • Each 2 of the 4 disciples should be turned into sheep and the 2 others should be tanked near the priest who is supposed to them in the course of the fight. Faerlina is tanked in the center of the room, and the raid should spread out around her to minimize the damage of the rain of fire.
  • If Frenzy from the boss is imminent, the priest should take over one of the disciples and make it a few seconds after the action of the Enrage Sacrifice near Faerlina – with embrace of the widow. This is repeated a maximum of 4 times and the boss is done.

Maexxna – Born many years ago deep in the mountains of Northrend, she was trapped in the fearsome citadel of Naxxramas, where she gives birth to her brood, to whom she feeds the corpses of all those who have ventured too deep into Naxxramas. — Commander Eligor Morningbringer

Loot

Capabilities

Gossamer showers
Used every 40 seconds by Maexxna and paralyzes everyone in the raid (including the tank) for 6 seconds. No abilities or spells can be used during this time. Gossamer Shower deals about 2,500 damage to each player and cannot be resisted!

Weave In
Cast 20 seconds into battle and then every 40 seconds after that. 2 random players (except the tank) are cocooned against the wall behind her and get ~2,700 poison damage every 2 seconds. The players can’t do anything themselves during that time. These cocoons have 15,000 hit points and can be destroyed by other players to free the players.

Necrotic Poison
This spell reduces healing on the target by 90% and affects all players standing in front of Maexxna. This spell can be removed almost permanently via Undo Poisoning from the Druid or via the Totem of Poison Purification from the Shaman (Shaman and Tank must be in the same group!).

Frenzy
At 30% hit points, Maexxna goes into frenzy, increasing her physical damage by 100%, attack speed by 50%, and size. This effect cannot be removed!

Maexxnaspinnling
8 small spiders are summoned 30 seconds into the fight and then every 40 seconds. They have about 7,000 health and hit cloth armor for 1,000 damage.

Combat sequence

  • The fight will last about 3 to 4 minutes and consists mainly of keeping the tank alive.
  • The tank runs towards Maexxna and turns her away from the raid as fast as possible so that only he gets the poison spell.
  • After the first 20 seconds, 2 players are cocooned and must be freed. After another 10 seconds, the first spiders appear and must be bombed away from the webshower.
  • This is followed by the stun for everyone in the raid. Before the stun, the tank should cast all available Heal Over Time (Hot) effects and Poison Cleanse so that he doesn’t die in those 6 seconds.
  • This process is repeated until ~33% of the boss’s hit points, then wait until the next gossamer shower. After that, Battle Frenzy and any other available cooldowns should be used to kill Maexxna as quickly as possible, as the tank will only survive one more gossamer shower with Shield Wall.
