WoW: When did you have the most fun in World of Warcraft?

Imagine someone asking you about the moment in World of Warcraft that you had by far the most fun. But you shouldn’t take too much time, you would have to answer quickly and from the gut – what would you choose? And to make it a little more interesting: Did this moment also happen during your favorite add-on?

More than eleven years of World of Warcraft… that’s pretty crazy. And after such a long time, it’s one thing to ask players what they think is the best WoW expansion. On the other hand, pinning the same people down to a concrete situation or at least a phase that is very limited in time is a completely different matter. We here in the editorial office only had to realize this this morning when our meeting escalated again (some had too little, others too much coffee … happened), when we came up with exactly this topic: This one Determining the moment when we had the most fun in WoW is not that easy. In addition, it does not necessarily have to have taken place during our favorite expansion.

My best time in WoW
An example? Gladly: Deciding myself (=Nico, I’ve mortified the stuff here!) on a favorite add-on is incredibly difficult for me, because even the expansions, which are noticeable

lower down in my personal rankings, they all had a lot of good things to offer. I started with The Burning Crusade – that was awesome, there was a lot to do thanks to Classic Azeroth, which was still fresh for me, and everything was somehow new. In terms of story – as a narrative bridge to Warcraft III – and the atmosphere it created, I found Wrath of the Lich King to be an unsurpassed hit. I’m still trying to push out Cataclysm for the most part, thanks to a lot of brand new content and features, I found Mists of Pandaria strong almost across the board and I was also looking for Warlords of Draenor for the first three months, which I couldn’t even manage in TBC. I have to choose? Menno… Ok, then I choose The Burning Wrath of the Lich King of Pandaria! On the other hand, when did I have the most fun? Puuh, the decision is also incredibly difficult for me, but after a long back and forth I would decide for my raid progress time in Ulduar – I think the most beautiful raid to date (after Karazhan) came in the subsequent expansions, at least stylistically nothing more. There was also the T8, with the cool hunter’s helmet in ABC mask optics!

With colleagues? However, it looks like this:
Sebastian: “I had the most fun in The Burning Crusade. I had a few well-equipped PvP characters with which I rocked the battlefields and in PvE TBC was also my wedding. But not only the “success” was the most fun: TBC was also the time that I got to know the people I’ve raided with for the past nine years.”

Philipp: “As a passionate raider and pala , I actually had the most fun in Mists of Pandaria, in the battle for Orgrimmar. I found it terrific to take the revenge mechanics to the point of absurdity and resort to lots of dirty tricks. 1st place in damage and healing were mostly the result. In addition, Siegecrafter Blackfuse is still my absolute favorite boss, even though it took me well over 200 attempts for the goblin with my guild. The evenings were intense and even with wipes pure fun.”

Dirk G.: “I had my best time in The Burning Crusade. The heroic instances were awesome, I’ve definitely been to Karazhan more than 100 times and it still never got boring. Battlefields and arenas were at their peak in terms of participation and I played PvP really intensively during that time. And I just loved the key quests – you just had to work everything out with buddies and guild members. Unfortunately, WoW became easier and more arbitrary and boring after that.”

Maria (as a newcomer!): “I have the most fun in World of Warcraft when my goblin priestess just drifts through the world – feeling strange in a fantastic world, discovering places and sometimes getting lost, unpacking the fishing rod and just relax. The perfect weekend game for me.”

Veronika: “My heart’s add-on was Mists of Pandaria. The reason: the introduction of pet battles. I gambled like crazy and had a lot of fun catching all the free-ranging pets, defeating all the pet trainers in the guild Organizing competitions and stuff like that. Other than that, I liked the Asian setting.”

Karsten: “In Classic I had my best, because most intense, WoW time. Everything was still new, everything was exciting. The lust for raids and loot has never been greater. And in PvP my villain rocked everything and everyone away. Good old days. “

Tanja: “The island of Quel’danas, at the end of Burning Crusade, was the most fun for me. However, the summit was the sunwell plateau, where I gained my first raid experiences. Demanding boss fights in the blood elf setting – fantastic!”

What is ?

is a true recreation of the original WoW as you know it from 2006. All parts of the game – from combat mechanics and talent trees to character models and zones – have been recreated, contributing to the authentic experience.
