WoW: Graphic comparison Draenor and Outland

Part 1: Outland in Draenor – Tanaan, the Dark Portal, Khadgar and Hellfire Citadel
Part 2: Outland in Draenor – Nagrand and wildlife
Part 3: Outland in Draenor – Shadowmoon Valley
Part 4: Outland in Draenor – Talador and Forests of Terokkar
WoW: New Zones, Gone Zones

West of the Dark Portal, beyond Hellfire Peninsula, lay the Zangamarsh in Outland. This fungus-covered swamp area was a quest zone for level 62 to 64 heroes. Fireflies, water striders, and spore gliders gave the zone its own charm.

The good news: Blizzard is taking Zangamarsh to Draenor. The bad news: The area is almost completely under water, doesn’t count as a separate zone and hardly has any quests. What do you all mean? Will you miss Telredor and the fight against Naga in Warlords of Draenor?

WoW: Gorgorond

To the north of Outland stretched the Needlepoint Gorges of Blade’s Edge Mountains – home of the colossal Gronn and the raid against Gruul the Dragonslayer. But on the new Draenor, there is an entirely different area in the same place, the mountains of Gorgorond.

WoW: Skettis

On Outland, to the southeast of the “Woods of Terokkar,” players could visit this hidden city of the arakkoa. On Draenor, however, this was made its own region, the Spiers of Arak. These extend further south than old Skettis and over several mountains. On the ground live the Shattered Hand orcs and flightless arakkoa, who leave the area as refugees. Their cousins live in citadels high on the slopes of the “Heavenly Needle”.

WoW: Frostfire Grade

In the extreme north-west of Outland only the Twisting Nether raged. But in the new Draenor, there’s a whole area of snow and volcanoes here: Frostfire Grade. This is the home of the Frostwolf clan and Bladespire ogres, and the starting area of the Horde. This is where Horde players establish their garrison and begin Warlords of Draenor quests.

WoW: Netherstorm

A glance at the map of Draenor suffices to ask an important question: “Where is the Netherstorm?” This high level area (level 70) was one of the last zones in Burning Crusade. The broken terrain was built upon by blood elf and Consortium bases and besieged by demons of the Burning Legion.

There were several important dungeons and raids in the east, including the “Tempest Keep” against the blood elf traitor Kael’Thas. Netherstorm is said to have emerged from the broken “Plains of Farahlon”. But in Draenor there is neither Farahlon nor a netherstorm. In the northeast is only the wide sea.

What is ?

is a true recreation of the original WoW as you know it from 2006. All parts of the game – from combat mechanics and talent trees to character models and zones – have been recreated, contributing to the authentic experience.
