WoW: The Black Morass in TBC Classic – how to master the Attunement

WoW: The Black Morass in TBC Classic - how to master the AttunementOne of the first attunement challenges of WoW: Burning Crusade Classic is to earn access to the dungeon “The Black Morass”. You can find out how this works in detail in this guide to TBC Classic.

Already in the leveling phase of WoW: Burning Crusade Classic, but also in the level 70 endgame, numerous important pre-quest series and requirements await our heroes, which we have to master in order to be allowed to enter all dungeon and raid challenges of TBC Classic Phase 1.

The most important of these so-called “attunements” certainly revolves around the access authorization for the 10-player raid Karazhan. The associated quests send you into dungeons again and again, and this is where it starts to get complicated. For some of the dungeons you have to earn the access key first. One of these dungeons is called “The Black Morass”, and in this guide we will tell you how to gain access to the dungeon in the Caverns of Time.

TBC Classic: Off to the Caves of Time

After you’ve recovered the Apprentice’s Key in the Karazhan Prequest series, it still needs to be activated. Khadgar therefore sends you to Medivh, whom you find in the Caves of Time in Tanaris, with the quest The Touch of the Master. Unfortunately, there is a complication here as well. Medivh is in the Black Morass dungeon, and you can’t just walk into it.

The good news is that you can go to the Caverns of Time in Tanaris at level 66 to prepare the Attunement for access to The Black Morass. Tip: According to Blizzard, the NPC Zephir should already be in Shattrath from launch and grant you a port to the Caverns of Time! There the following quest steps await you:

Step 1: First talk to the Steward of Time in the Caves of Time to get the quest To the Master’s Hoard. This is followed by a conversation with Andormu and a longer walk through the caves alongside the Keeper of Time until you finally complete The Caves of Time.

Step 2: Next, your path will lead you back to Andormu, who will send you to the local dungeon, Foothills of the Old Hills, with The Old Hills. For the Old Hillsbrad quest in the dungeon, talk to Erozion and complete all the objectives within the dungeon:

  • For Taretha’s diversion, travel to Durnholde Castle and use the bundle of incendiary bombs to place five incendiaries on the barrels in each internment barracks.
  • Once you have done this, go to Thrall, from whom you will receive the quest Escape from Durnholde. ATTENTION: Wait for all players in the party to turn in their quests before starting the next quest with Thrall. Escort the Orc fighter out of the castle and help him free Taretha. Then finish the final boss and return to Erozion. He will then send you back to Andormu.

Step 3: To thank you for your help in the dungeon, Andormu will now provide you with the Black Morass quest and permission to enter the dungeon of the same name.

What is ?

World of Classic is a true recreation of the original WoW as you know it from 2006. All parts of the game – from combat mechanics and talent trees to character models and zones – have been recreated, contributing to the authentic experience.

Getting Started

All players with an active World of Warcraft subscription or game time on their accounts have access to WoW Classic at no additional cost.

  1. Open the Blizzard Battle.net Desktop App and select World of Warcraft from the menu.
  2. Select from the Version menu. If you have more than one World of Warcraft account, you’ll see a second Account drop-down list. In this column, select the active account you want to play with.
  3. Click the Install button. The progress bar will tell you when your game is ready to play.
  4. Click the Play button when the installation is complete.

You will need to select the realm you want to play on from several different realm types. Make sure you choose the same realm as your friends – in World of Warcraft Classic, you can only group with characters that are on the same realm as you!
