In WoW: The Burning Crusade, the various crafts are not only very useful, but you also get access to special benefits or items when you master a profession. In this article, we’ll tell you which exclusive bonuses the different arts grant you.
In our article WoW Classic: The Burning Crusade – prepare optimally now, we recommended that you already bring your desired professions for the Outland adventure to 300. Similar to WoW Classic, the crafting arts will also be very useful in TBC Classic. In fact, they’ll be even more useful, since the crafts will give you access to special benefits that other players who haven’t leveled up the respective profession will have to do without. To help you make the right decision when choosing a profession, we’ll tell you below which profession offers which advantages.
Update from May 03, 2021: Thanks to the beta and a post from Blizzard, we now know better what to expect from the professions in phase 1 of WoW: Burning Crusade Classic. We have therefore updated the article once again.
TBC Classic – The advantages of alchemy
Alchemy masters can of course still brew vials, elixirs and potions for their own use or for sale in TBC Classic, and there’s also the option of transmuting again. Depending on your specialization, you’ll be able to transmute or make elixirs/vials or potions more efficiently (i.e. you’ll get more of the items you make).
Alchemists also have access to the following exclusive items:
- Potion of the Mad Alchemist
- Alchemist Stone
The Alchemist’s Stone can be upgraded to the following items in the later stages:
- Assassin’s Alchemist Stone
- Savior’s Alchemist Stone
- Guardian’s Alchemist Stone
- Alchemist’s Stone of the Sorcerer
TBC Classic – The advantages of blacksmithing
As a blacksmith in TBC you make armor and weapons, weight stones for weapons, but also rods for enchanters. You’ll have to decide whether you want to specialize in making armor or weapons. For the “Weapons” section, there’s also a further specialization in maces, axes or swords. Depending on the specialization you learn, you can craft exclusive items for your character.
Mace specialization
- Dragon Strike
- Messenger of the Storm
Axe specialization
- Treacherous edge of the plains
- Blood Moon
Sword Specialization
- Blazing Fury
- Lionheart Dire Blade
Armor Specialization
- Bulwark of the Ancient Kings
- Embrace of the Whirling Nether
The items can be upgraded later. The following recipes will be added with the latest patch:
- Battle Plate of Hardkhorium
- Sun blessed chest plate
ATTENTION: Blizzard has meanwhile clarified that the craftable one-handed weapons like Dragon Strike can only be carried in the main hand at the beginning of TBC Classic. So it is not possible to put on the weapons twice.
TBC Classic – The advantages of the enchanting art
Enchanters can enchant or disenchant their own weapons as well as armor and enchant other players’ items. The latter, however, comes with a restriction. As an enchanter, you can only enchant your own rings, because the new ring enchantments are only available to the enchanting guild.
- Formula: Ring – Spell Power
- Formula: Ring – Values
- Formula: Ring – Strike
- Formula: Ring – Healing Power
ATTENTION: It is not (!) possible to level up enchanting, to enchant yourself the two rings with the above listed recipes and to benefit from this bonus even if you unlearn enchanting. The ring enchantments are only active if you have the corresponding enchantment skill.
TBC Classic – The advantages of engineering
Similar to WoW (buy now ) Classic, you need a certain skill level of the profession for most of the engineering gadgets in TBC Classic. If you want to use jumper cables, repair bots, PvP gadgets, and the two exclusive mounts, you absolutely need engineering skill. Also cool is the shock throttling particle extractor, which allows you to extract elemental gases from gas clouds. The most important exclusive advantage for engineers, however, are the goggles, which are some of the best headgear you can wear in PvE and PvP.
- Holo-Glasses of Destruction (cloth)
- Superheal Lens 4000 (cloth)
- Deathmaker Glasses X11 (Leather)
- Lunar Magnifying Glasses (Leather)
- Miracle healing binoculars XT40 (leather)
- Direct hit goggles v2.0 (Heavy armor)
- Life Replicator Glasses (Heavy Armor)
- Gadget storm goggles (Heavy armor)
- Gizmat goggles 2000 (Plate)

- Panzatronic goggles (Plate)
PLEASE NOTE: The epic engineer goggles will not be available until Tier 5 content (in Phase 2).
TBC Classic – The benefits of jewelcrafting
With the new TBC profession, in addition to necklaces and rings, you’ll primarily be making jewels that players can hammer into the sockets of their equipment. However, only jewelers themselves have access to the best, uniquely wearable jewels.
- Blue: Shooting Star
- Red: Kailee’s Rose
- Red: Don Julio’s Heart
- Red: Blood Red Sun
- Yellow: Amber Blood
- Yellow: Facet of Eternity
- Yellow: Stone of Blades
ATTENTION: It is not (!) possible to level up Jeweler, socket equipment with the jewels listed above, then unlearn the profession and still continue to benefit from the gems.
Furthermore, jewelers can craft exclusive gems for themselves:
- Figure – Dawnstone Crab
- Figure – Devil’s Steel Liver
- Figurine – Living Ruby Serpent
- Figure – Night Eye Panther
- Figure – Talasite Owl
- As TBC progresses, more recipes for epic items will be added:

TBC Classic – The benefits of leatherworking
As a Leatherworker, you will continue to craft armor sets and equipment for Leather and Heavy Armor wearers. Only when you have learned Leatherworking will you gain access to some special pieces of equipment, as well as the various drums that you can use to provide useful buffs to your party.
- Drums of Leatherworking
- Drums of Battle
- Drums of War
- Drums of Speed
- Drums of Restoration
- Drums of Panic
ATTENTION: With Zul’Aman in Phase 4, “Great Drums” versions are supposed to come into play, which have a significantly higher range. At the same time, Blizzard has decided to weaken the drums themselves. These provide all affected players not only with the respective buffs, but also with the tinnitus effect, which prevents them from benefiting from a drum effect again for two minutes.

In fact, the specialization mainly determines how efficiently you can craft Spell Fabric, Shadow Fabric, and Primal Moon Fabric. Also, some recipes are only available to a certain specialization. What is WoW Classic?
World of Warcraft Classic is a true recreation of the original WoW as you know it from 2006. All parts of the game – from combat mechanics and talent trees to character models and zones – have been recreated, contributing to the authentic experience.
Getting Started
All players with an active World of Warcraft subscription or game time on their accounts have access to WoW Classic at no additional cost.
- Open the Blizzard Battle.net Desktop App and select World of Warcraft from the menu.
- Select World of Warcraft Classic from the Version menu. If you have more than one World of Warcraft account, you’ll see a second Account drop-down list. In this column, select the active account you want to play with.
- Click the Install button. The progress bar will tell you when your game is ready to play.
- Click the Play button when the installation is complete.
You will need to select the realm you want to play on from several different realm types. Make sure you choose the same realm as your friends – in World of Warcraft Classic, you can only group with characters that are on the same realm as you!
