WoW: TBC Classic – The most important milestones on the way to level 70

When Burning Crusade Classic takes us to Outland this year, there are plenty of quests, challenges, and rewards waiting for us. You should take some particularly important milestones with you on the way to the new maximum level of 70 – to save time or to benefit as best as possible from the associated loot.

Are you also one of the WoW fans who want to take off with the launch of World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic in Outland? To the players who want to get important access permissions for Karazhan, for example, as soon as possible? To the adventurers who want to take every important milestone with them on the way to the maximum level 70? If so, you’ve come to the right place! Because in this guide we have listed all the important quests and unlocks that you can and should tackle even before level 70.

Update March 22, 2021: Ræmas from the EU server Everlook has taken his awesome Burning Crusade Classic dungeon leveling spreadsheet that we recommended to you in the original article to a new… well… level. The guide is now also available on an extra PHP page entitled ” The Raemas Way ” – including a better, visual processing of the information, Wowhead links, a new section for Horde players and checkboxes for better tracking. We’ve got several thumbs up and a big thank you for all the work that went into the project!

As early as possible: Get these materials
In order to craft the Shattered Halls Key , which grants you access to the dungeon of the same name, you must complete a longer quest line that starts in Shadowmoon Valley – by knocking out Blacksmith Gorlunk and thus obtaining the item Primed Keyform . In the course of the orders you should get the following materials, among other things:

4 x Fel Iron Bars
2 x Dust
4 x fire particles

If you don’t want to farm these items, but want to buy them from the auction house, you should do so early on before word gets around that these items are required for an important Attunement quest line and then the price increases noticeably.

Level 60: Choose your Tailoring specialization
All tailoring masters can already go to Shattrath at level 60 to accept the respective quest for their desired specialization there in the Lower Quarter. However, note that you must already have a tailoring skill of 350 in order to be offered the orders by the NPCs:

How to Become a Mooncloth Cutter by Nasmara Moonsong
How to Become a Shadowtwist Cutter by Andrion Darkweaver
How to Become a Spellfire Cutter by Gidge Spellweaver

Level 62: Pre-quest for Mag’har – important for Horde
You should put all Horde players on good terms with the Mag’har orcs early on, because only then can you tackle the quests associated with the faction in Nagrand or, for example, buy the Talbuk from the faction trader. The fun starts with Thrall’s advisor Nazgrel in Thrallmar, who provides you with the quest The Assassin . Find the corpse and start a quest chain that will eventually end with The Mag’har quest . In this way you will achieve a neutral reputation with the Mag’har, which is sufficient to be able to talk to the various orcs in the Nagrand settlement of Garadar.

Level 65: Complete the Arena questline in Nagrand
At Gurgthock in northern Nagrand (south of the Ruins of the Laughing Skull) you can start a group quest line, for which you should master several battles against arena bosses. It starts with The Ring of Blood: Smashtoe quest . After that there are five more challenges that not only reward you with lots of experience, gold and potions, but last but not least with a good, blue (from a selection of six weapons in total). Don’t wait until level 70 to tackle the Nagrand Arena!

Level 66: Visit the Caverns of Time
Leave Outland at level 66 and travel to Tanaris, the Caverns of Time. There you can now tackle the quests that you need for access authorization for the dungeon “The Black Morass”. It is precisely this dungeon that plays an important role in a quest series that will be available a little later and that will ultimately give you access to the Karazhan raid instance .

And why not wait until level 70 to visit the Caverns of Time? Well, one of the quests requires you to let the Keeper of Time guide you through the Caverns of Time for several minutes. This can be a big frustration factor, especially on PvP servers. Summoning the NPC provides you with a debuff that prevents you from summoning the keeper again for 15 minutes. So if you get knocked out by other players during the quest, you will have to wait quite a while before you can start the quest again. The earlier you appear in the caves, the greater the chance that you will be able to tackle the quest in peace.

Another plus: the follow-up quest sends you to the Old Hillsbrad Foothills dungeon, where more experience points and rewards await you. This is how you finally get access authorization to the dungeon “The Black Morass”. If you later have the pre- quest line for Karazhan on your to-do list, you can save yourself all the pre-banter and head straight to Medivh in the Morass.

Level 67/68: Master the dungeon Sethekkhallen
In the south of Shattrath, the desolate ruins of Auchindoun await you, in which several dungeon entrances are hidden. Visiting the Sethekk Halls early should be a particularly high priority for you. On the one hand, because Isfar gives you two orders outside the dungeon that lead you into the halls:

brother against brother
Terokk’s legacy
These quests reward you with good, rare items. On the other hand, after defeating the final boss, King of Claws, Ikiss, a chest will appear in which you will find the key to the shadow labyrinth . You have to go to the “Shadow Labyrinth” dungeon at the latest when you start the quest line for Karazhan already mentioned .

Level 68: Starts the Karazhan pre-quest line
Once you reach level 68, you should travel to the Deadwind Pass in the Eastern Kingdoms as soon as possible. Because from this point on, you can start the long quest line with Archmage Alturus , which will ultimately grant you access to the 10-player raid instance Karazhan. All steps of the quest line can be found in the following guide:

WoW: Karazhan Attunement – this is how you get the key in TBC Classic
Level 68: Choose your alchemy specialization
If you want to learn an alchemy specialization with your character, you will receive the associated quests from level 68 and a skill of 325 from Alchemist Grabbel in Honor Hold (Alliance) or Apothecary Antonivich in Thrallmar (Horde). ATTENTION: Even though you are offered quests for potion mastery, elixir mastery, and transmutation mastery, you are ultimately only allowed to complete one quest path and complete the corresponding specialization.

General tip: visit dungeons as often as possible
Already in the level phase from level 60 to level 70 you should visit the dungeons of Outland and Caverns of Time as often as possible. The reason: All dungeons are associated with certain factions and you need the Respectful reputation with the respective faction in order to be able to buy the key for the heroic versions of the associated dungeons.

In the dungeons themselves, however, you only collect reputation particularly efficiently up to Honored. After that, the quickest way to reach Revered is to complete quests associated with each faction in the open world. However, if you complete most quests before you reach Honored only to run dungeons at level 70, it will take a lot longer to Revered.
