WoW: TBC Classic – How to learn to fly in Outland

In this guide for WoW: Burning Crusade Classic, we’ll tell you how to unlock slow and fast flying in Outland. We also go into special features such as the flight forms of the druid.

When the Dark Portal of WoW: Burning Crusade Classic opens on June 2nd, Outland awaits us with all its challenges, tasks and improvements. It should be particularly important for many players to get Outland’s flight permits for the most important characters in a timely manner. Anyone who can fly from A to B at maximum speed not only saves time, but also enjoys tangible advantages, for example when farming. But what do you have to do to unlock flying in TBC Classic? We’ll tell you!

Flying in WoW: TBC Classic – the unlock
With the pre-patch, “normal” riding on mounts has already been restructured. You can learn the following two skills from Riding Instructors:

Inexperienced Rider : Riding skill of 75 (slow riding, increases speed by 60 percent) – From level 30 for 10 gold (no reputation discount)
Skilled Horseman : Riding skill of 150 (fast riding, 100 percent) – From level 60 for 600 gold (without reputation discount)
Burning Crusade Classic adds two skills that build on these skills:

Experienced Horseman : Riding skill of 225 (slow flying, 60 percent) – From level 70 for 800 gold (without reputation discount)
Skilled Horseman : Riding skill of 300 (flying fast, 280 percent (on the ground 100 percent)) – From level 70 for 5,000 gold (without reputation discount)
Add to that the cost of the standard flight mounts: 100 gold for a slow flight mount and 200 gold for a fast flight mount (no reputation discount). You can find the riding instructors for the new flight skills in Shadowmoon Valley:

Ilsa Bluebrew (Alliance) is in Wildhammer Stronghold.
Olrokk (Horde) is in Shadowmoon.

Flying in WoW: TBC Classic – the druid

The only class that doesn’t need to acquire flight mounts in TBC Classic is the Druid. This learns namely in the course of the level phase, the flight form . Here are the most important key data about the flying form:

Druids require level 68 for the skill.
Druids must already have learned Rider Skilled .
However, you do not need (!) an experienced rider . You get the skill for free with flight form and can then also fly slow flight mounts.
The druid saves approximately 891 gold through Flight Form .
Flight Form can only be activated out of combat. Since changing into form does not require any casting time, you can also change into your flying form while falling, for example .

Swift Flight Form is not in game at launch of TBC Classic. At that time, this came into play with Patch 2.1. Blizzard could now bring the fast flight form to the live servers with phase 2 or phase 3.
ATTENTION: Druids will only receive the Swift Flight Form quest from their class teacher once they have learned Skilled Rider . So don’t wait until Blizzard implements Fast Flight Form to spend 5,000 gold .
