WoW Classic takes us back to a time long thought lost. The trip into the past makes us aware of one thing above all: some areas were violently changed by the cataclysmic destruction. Returning to these places therefore triggers very special feelings.
Do you still remember the year 2010? When the Earthguard Neltharion, better known as Deathwing, escaped from Deepholm and changed the face of Azeroth forever? The World of Warcraft (buy now) , as it was known and loved from the beginning, has not existed since then. Or rather, it hasn’t existed until recently.
Thanks to the re-release of WoW Classic, we can currently plunge into Azeroth before the cataclysmic destruction. An Azeroth whose Barrens has not been divided, and whose Loch Modan has not been flooded.
WoW Classic and the trip into the past
The new edition of the original WoW version from the years 2004 to 2006 invites you to linger – not only thanks to the significantly decelerated world , but above all thanks to the reconstructed and long-lost areas. We discover familiar and well-known details around every corner and we remember events that sometimes happened more than ten years ago. One thing is certain: you don’t have to be a child of the Classic era to indulge in nostalgic memories of the puristic Azeroth of its time.
Mulgore and Barrens – the epitome of idyll
My first WoW character was a tauren druid back in January 2007 (just before the release of the first expansion “The Burning Crusade”) . Throughout my WoW life, I felt particularly at home in the lush grasses and idyllic fields of Mulgore. But the barren and arid fields of the fallow land also fascinated me.
Above all, the land of the Ebenstriders and Kodos fascinates me again in the new edition . Because that prairie invites my (still only) level 18 hunter and I to go stalking. I forget any sense of time at the sight of those withered fields that are broken here and there by dreamy oases – and that’s what makes WoW Classic fun for me personally . No time pressure and no stress – just pure relaxation and exploration .
What is WoW Classic?
World of Warcraft Classic is a true recreation of the original WoW as you know it from 2006. All parts of the game – from combat mechanics and talent trees to character models and zones – have been recreated, contributing to the authentic experience.
