WoW – Season 4 was a success.

When the Blizzard developers announced a 4th – Season of WoW: Shadowlands a few months ago, which would not really bring any new content, it was immediately clear to most players that this decision was born out of necessity. It would still take quite a while until the release of Dragonflight, and the third – Season with the Mausoleum of the First and Zereth Mortis wouldn’t keep players in line for that long.

But what the developers made of this emergency situation is remarkable. With little tricks they made the old raids of Shadowlands up to date again and moreover they threw all intentions overboard. Instead of making us work for our loot, in – Season 4 we are just thrown loot. Time gating via cap for bravery points is history and we can even buy the most important items directly from a merchant. If you only play a little actively in – Season 4, you can probably hardly complain about the loot you receive.

Not everything is perfect

Of course, all that glitters is not gold in – Season 4. You can see in many places that the developers have stitched together the few new contents, such as the new raid affixes or the new, old Mythic-Plus dungeons, with a hot needle. The balancing between the dungeons was just as off as between the individual affixes. While some hardly matter, you can trivialize entire boss fights with others.

For a stopgap patch, however, everything works surprisingly well. Of course, it would have been better if Blizzard hadn’t gotten into this situation in the first place. But after the child had fallen into the well, what the developers have made of it is quite respectable.

Game director speaks of a success

Even more positively sees the thing the current WoW (buy now ) Game Director Ion Hazzikostas. In an interview with Liquid guild leader Maximus, he also talked about – Season 4 and called it a success. Ion went even further and revealed that they could definitely imagine including a similar – Season at the end of the upcoming Dragonflight expansion.

We agree with Ion Hazzikostas – that happens rather rarely.

By the way, he is not only referring to the game content. The game director also likes the intention of the dinar system, thanks to which you can buy up to three items directly from the merchant. However, players would get their BiS items a bit quickly. But that’s okay for a shortened, final – Season .

Full agreement

Now that we know what’s going to happen to Sylvanas, it’s all the more fun to give her another good kick in the butt.

I can’t speak for all players, of course, but for my part I agree with Ion in every respect. And I have hardly heard any other negative voices about – Season 4. Apart from the useless “they should have done it right the first time” cries. As justified as they are, they unfortunately say nothing about – Season 4.

Should Blizzard want to end all expansions with such “Fun – Season s” in the future, they would have my support for sure. Especially when I imagine that most of the negative points would certainly be weaker with a larger preparation time.

At the end of an expansion, all players are kind of “fed up” and done with the content anyway. There is no need, while we already know the direction of the upcoming expansion and are looking forward to it, to necessarily add another new raid or otherwise really new content. Especially since the player numbers at the end of the expansion are lower than at the beginning anyway. So let’s have some fun in Dragonflight at the end, too, before we start the following expansion “WoW: Still Alive”.
