User #SIDESKETCH posted a screenshot of #WorldofWarcraft on #Reddit. It looked so cool that many players wanted to know what his settings were. In the process, he revealed some tricks that actually make the graphics in WoW more beautiful and even improve performance.
What are those tricks?
You don’t need an external tool or addons to make adjustments, you just make specific adjustments in the game’s settings.
Probably the most important and most surprising for many is the adjustment of the resolution scaling. This is set to 100% by default and thus adapts to your screen resolution. However, SIDESKETCH has found that both performance and graphics benefit when you reduce this scaling by 4% to 10%.
Furthermore, he emphasizes that the resample technology FidelityFX is the “MVP” when it comes to getting the best out of the game. The setting for this can be found under “System -> Advanced -> Reconstruction quality”.

Does it really look that much better?
Many players say that the changes actually make the game prettier for them. In particular, the effects of weapons and spells, for example, become prettier and objects such as the ground or walls look less washed out.
Our WoW Demon Cortyn has tried out the settings himself and is especially excited about the resolution scaling: “I find the difference so stark. It’s like I suddenly put on a pair of glasses in WoW.”

Does the trick really work for everyone?
No. There are some people in the comments who say they don’t notice any difference. Also, the effect is said to vary depending on what area you are in.
Some prefer to swear by the NVidia Sharpening Filter for better graphics. However, it only works with the manufacturer’s graphics cards and only in full screen.
