Those responsible at Blizzard should soon announce phase 2 of WoW: Burning Crusade Classic. But what content can we expect with the upcoming update? We’ll give you a preview of all the innovations that are sure to come and all the innovations that could possibly come.
Phase 1 of WoW: Burning Crusade Classic is now a few weeks old and many players are slowly turning their attention to the upcoming challenges of Outland. In fact, it shouldn’t be too much longer before those responsible at Blizzard announce concrete details about the second phase and make some content available for testing on the public test server.
In this article, we already dare to take a look at it and tell you which innovations will surely come with the next phase of TBC Classic and which contents are still marked with a question mark. We base our assessment on the original Burning Crusade patch cycle, the information confirmed by Blizzard so far, and our experience with WoW (Buy Now) Classic.
WoW: TBC Classic – Blizzard’s phase preview
During the official announcement of TBC Classic at BlizzCon Online 2021, Blizzard’s developers gave us a preview of the phases of the Outland adventure. Later, they corrected the distribution of arena – Season s, so the current phase schedule looks like this:

Magtheridon’s Chamber
Gruul’s Cave
Start of arena – Season 1

WoW: TBC Classic – So what is definitely coming with phase 2?
When Phase 2 of TBC Classic begins, we will definitely get access to the two raid challenges Serpentshrine and The Eye in the Keep of the Storm, which were already included in the 2007 Launch Pack. In addition, the launch, or shortly thereafter, will usher in the second Arena – Season . IMPORTANT: You can already master the setting quests for the two new raid instances!
WoW: TBC Classic – This awaits you in the snake shrine
After the two raid quickies in phase 1, the Serpentshrine is the first reasonably large 25-player instance that you will enter in the TBC era. A total of six bosses await you in the center of Zangamarsh. However, before you can march through the entrance and take the (careful! deadly!) elevator down, you must first complete a quest line that first takes you to the Slave Pens, where you can obtain the quest The Cudgel of from Nar’biss the Heretic Kar’desh obtained . You complete this task by defeating Gruul and the Terror of the Night (Karazhan). This is how you get the Mark of Vashj , which grants you access to the Serpent Shrine.
Raid for 25 players
6 bosses
Final boss Lady Vashj
The Serpent Shrine drops the tokens for the Tier 5 set Gloves, Pants, and Helm.
Also important: For two bosses in the snake shrine, selected players of your raid must get resistance clothes! When fighting Hydross you need a tank with as much frost resistance as possible and a tank with as much nature resistance as possible. It can also help if your add-tanks have some Frost and Nature Resistance clothes equipped. In the fight against Leotheras , however, a player (preferably a sorcerer) is required who tanks the demon form of the boss with the highest possible fire resistance value.
WoW: TBC Classic – This awaits you in the eye of the storm keep
The second raid of phase 2 also requires you to complete a (long) quest line before you can enter Tempest Keep. However, before you can accept the actual task for the key of storms at Khadgar, you must first master a long chain of quests in Shadowmoon Valley, for which you should, among other things, knock out several elite opponents. To get the key, you will then be sent to the Shattered Halls, Shadow Maze, Steam Vault, and Arcatraz dungeons.
Last but not least, it’s up to Magtheridon. The effort is worth it, after all you need to defeat the final boss Kael’thas for the following phase 3 (unlocking access authorization for the tier 6 raids). In addition, one of the most coveted mounts in Outland can drop in the final fight against Kael’thas. Oh, and there’s Tier 5 set parts and other great loot, of course.
Raid for 25 players
4 bosses
Final boss Kael’thas Sunstrider
The Shoulderguard and Chestpiece Tier 5 set tokens drop in Tempest Keep.
You don’t necessarily need resistance equipment for the bosses in the eye. Only with High Astromancer Solarian does a lot of arcane damage hit the raid. Depending on which version of the boss will end up on the live servers, it can be helpful to protect yourself at least somewhat, with Violet Badge and large arcane protection potions, for example.
WoW: TBC Classic – The second arena – Season
Compared to the first arena – Season of TBC Classic, not much will change compared to the second – Season . In other words: Of the new – Season 2 items, only the PvP shoulders (rating of 2,000) and PvP weapons (rating of 1850) will again require a personal rating. All other items can be bought for arena points without any restrictions. The current – Season 1 Epics are then up for sale
for Honor. Saving honor points now could be worthwhile.
WoW: TBC Classic – What else is confirmed?
In a post on the official forums back in May, Blizzard confirmed that the Epic Engineering Goggles will be coming to Phase 2 with Tier 5 content. In the original Burning Crusade, these were only available with patch 2.1. With the two raid instances, new crafting recipes also come into play, which will give your virtual hero one or the other item upgrade. Here are just a few examples:
Pattern: Belt of the Monsoon
Plans: Red Belt of Battle
Plans: Red Boots of Desolation
Pattern: Boots of the Crimson Hawk
Pattern: Belt of Deep Shadows
Pattern: Belt of the Long Way
Pattern: Boots of Spellsmash
Pattern: Boots of Natural Grace
Plans: Belt of the Warden
Plans: Protector’s Boots
In addition, with Phase 2 we will gain access to the following weapon upgrades:
blood moon
messenger of the storm
Lionheart Judgment Blade
Treacherous Edge of the Planes
For the level 3 version of the weapons, you need five nether vortexes (also only available from phase 2) and the level 2 version of the corresponding item.
WoW: TBC Classic – What might come with Phase 2?
The first phases of TBC Classic differ significantly from the first content patches from 2007. At that time, the raids from phase 2 were part of the launch package, as was the raid instance Hyjal Peak, which will only come with phase 3.
At the same time, the first content patch 2.1, which went online just under four months after the launch, was so packed with content that Blizzard shouldn’t hold back all the innovations until phase 3. And that they are quite willing to prioritize content is shown, for example, by the epic engineering glasses, which should not only come into play in phase 3 but in phase 2. In the following we will introduce you to other patch 2.1 innovations, some of which Blizzard should already release in phase 2.
Quest line for Epic Flight Form and the Raven Lord
As is well known, druids do not have to buy a flight mount in order to fly over Outland. They learn the skill through Flight Form for free, but are then allowed to fly slow flying mounts if they choose. Cost saving: 891 gold pieces. Fast Flight Form is n’t in the game yet. Druids who currently want to fly quickly through the air must also buy a fast flight mount (200 gold without reputation discount) in addition to Skilled Horseman for 5,000 gold (without reputation discount).
At that time, the Swift Flight Form or the associated quest line came into play with patch 2.1. Now the question is whether Blizzard actually wants to let all druids wait until phase 3. In our view, that doesn’t make much sense. After all, many players are already flying through the world with the fast flight mount. Incidentally, you will only learn the first order for the Fast Flight Form from your class teacher after you have bought Skilled Horseman . So don’t wait until Blizzard implements Fast Flight Form to spend 5,000 gold .
Cool for all classes: In the course of the quest line, druids learn how to summon the boss Anzu in the Sethekk Halls (Heroic). This can drop one of the most coveted mounts of the Burning Crusade era with the Raven Lord.
New quests for Sha’tari Skyguard
The Sha’tari Skyguard are an air force raised by Shattrath to deal with threats in the outer reaches of Outland. You can meet Skyguard followers as early as Stage 1, but the reputation gain is tied to daily repeatable quests that lead you to the Skettis in the high mountains of Terokkar, and these quests were introduced back in patch 2.1.
The new one-off and repeatable quests not only flush a lot of gold into the stock exchange, from exalted reputation level you can also buy chic riding nether rays from merchant Grella in the forests of Terrokar in addition to the epic pieces of jewelry Silver Cross of the Skyguard and Aeronautical Loop of Nobility, which cost 200 gold and be offered in different colors.
New quests for the Netherwing faction
Even more popular than the riding nether ray back in the original Burning Crusade were the nether drakes of the Netherwing faction in Shadowmoon Valley. You can already take the first steps towards becoming a nether dragon with the Kindness of Mordenai quest. However, the full path cannot be covered until Blizzard continues the questline – which is exactly what happened in the original Burning Crusade with patch 2.1.
Raise your reputation from Hateful to Exalted through various unique and repeatable Netherwing quests, eventually unlocking a Netherwing Dragon from Exalted. These are also available in several color variants and are always connected to their own final quest.
New quests for the Ogri’la faction in Blade’s Edge Mountains
If you are currently flying over the ogre plateau of enlightenment in the Blade’s Edge Mountains, you will hardly find anything exciting there. That changed with patch 2.1, because then Blizzard introduced a new daily quest hub around the Ogri’la faction.
Various tasks await you, such as bombing raids with your own flight mount or 5-player challenges, through which you will slowly but surely increase your reputation with the local ogres. You can’t earn a mount that way, but the Ogri’la have one or the other epic item at the faction trader.
Other potential innovations of Phase 2
There are other, smaller innovations that were introduced back then with phase 2.1. So Blizzard extended the quest offer from the consortium from the reputation level Benevolent to further orders that revolve around the machinations of the insidious Ethereum.
World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade
Burning Crusade has the maximum level in WoW at 70 and brings 2 new playable races (Draenei& Blood Elves). In addition, there is a new continent: The Sheol
The Burning Crusade is the first expansion for the successful MMORPG World of Warcraft (WoW) from the developer studio Blizzard. The add-on introduces a new continent called Outland. There are also new races. The Blood Elves for the Horde and the Draenei for the Alliance. The classes Paladin and Shaman are now also playable for both factions. World of Warcraft (WoW)
The online role-playing game World of Warcraft (WoW) was released in Europe in 2005 and is an MMO with a subscription payment model. In WoW, players can complete tasks with their characters to improve their hero and meet like-minded players. There are thirteen different races to choose from when selecting a character – six of which belong to only one faction each – as well as eleven classes. In World of Warcraft, players have the opportunity to join the Horde or the Alliance, complete missions and quests with their character in the rich world, and adventure with other heroes in instanced areas for five, ten, and even 25 players. In addition, characters can take up professions, collect pets and mounts, compete against opposing players in battlegrounds and arenas, or simply unwind in the main cities and chat with their guildmates. Guides, news, videos, screenshots, reports and more about World of Warcraft and The Burning Crusade are collected on our topic pages.
