The first July ID of WoW: Burning Crusade Classic is through and we compare the current player numbers with the server populations from the launch month of June 2021. Is the endgame busier now? Let’s find out!
In the launch month of WoW: Burning Crusade Classic, many players were still busy leveling their characters, mastering professions, and farming reputation. In addition, there were many raid groups that had already seen Karazhan and Co. from the inside, but logs from the runs were comparatively rarely posted online. The Player numbers from Ironforge.pro from June therefore still had to be taken with a grain of salt.
Now that the first July ID is over, we want to look in a direct comparison, whether the player numbers have changed in the endgame of TBC Classic. The most recent statistics are from June 30, 2021 to June 07, 2021 and include all characters that appeared in a log for a TBC endgame content during this period. Here are the findings:
- The US server Whitemane is again the largest (TBC) Classic server. 10,160 characters were counted there (in June: 5,811 characters).
- The EU server Gehennas is in second place, with 9,349 characters counted there (in June: 4,909).
- The largest German TBC Classic server is still Venoxis, with 6,495 characters (in June: 3,641 – 63 percent Horde).
- The former largest DE server Everlook came to 5,634 characters (in June 2,752 – with a faction distribution of 71 percent Alliance and 29 percent Horde).
- The formerly very busy server Lucifron currently comes to 2,713 (instead of 1,689) counted characters (at 100 percent Horde)
- On Razorfen, 4,024 (instead of 1,730 ) active characters (at 53 percent Alliance and 47 percent Horde) were counted.
- Dragon’s Call has 2,778 (instead of 1,410) active characters (with 40 percent Alliance and 60 percent Horde).
- Lakeshire comes to 2,446 (instead of 995) active characters (at 68 percent Alliance and 32 percent Horde)
- Patchwerk comes to 3,541 (instead of 1,975) active characters (at 34 percent Alliance and 66 percent Horde)
- Transcendence comes to 3,470 (instead of 1,595) active characters (at 40 percent Alliance and 60 percent Horde)
- Heartstriker comes to 2,051 (instead of 1,142) active characters (at 100 percent alliance)
- For Celebras there is data again: There 256 (instead of 68) characters were counted on Warcraftlogs, 30 of them on Horde side.
- In total, 292,653 raid-active characters were counted across the US, EU, and Russia regions (up from 156,671 in June).
So we can note that the numbers have increased across the board, as expected. Nevertheless, WoW reaches (buy now ): Burning Crusade Classic even now does not have the player numbers that WoW Classic was able to achieve in its first few months. Take for example the numbers from May 2020 (well after the launch of WoW Classic): At that time, every German Classic server (with the exception of Celebra) had at least 3,800 active characters, with most DE realms having around 5,000 characters in the endgame. In addition, there were significantly more hype servers worldwide that had 9,000+ characters.
Is this because of the split between TBC Classic and Classic era? Is Burning Crusade simply less popular than vanilla WoW? Or will player numbers on TBC realms continue to increase in the coming weeks? What do you think? Tell us in the comments!
