The graphic style of World of Warcraft is a classic, no question about it. Still, it’s always exciting when a WoW fan gives the popular MMORPG a new look. We have seen many fan projects in recent years that put WoW in a new light. For example, there are the designs of various areas in Azeroth and Outland in Unreal Engine 4.

The 3D artist AXCEL even topped it all off recently. He is currently working on an ambitious project, recreating the Horde capital in Unreal Engine 5. In his latest video AXCEL presented the gates of Orgrimmar and gave us a first glimpse into the center of the city.

World of Warcraft with realistic graphics is definitely a delightful project. Some players are still dreaming of WoW 2 with modern graphics style. Others, however, love the unique graphic style of WoW and can’t even imagine Azeroth with a new realistic look. Among them is the budding 3D artist named Mike Miz. He takes the opposite approach in his latest project and designs the classic WoW area Mulgore in the style of Blizzard’s shooter Overwatch. In the video you can take a first look at the home of the Tauren.

Mike Miz: Just a little project in Unreal where I used free assets (and some of my own) to practice creating large scale environments. This is what I imagined how WoW would look like if it was a FPS made in the same style as Overwatch.
