The Mana Tomb is located in the ruins of Auchindoun in Terokkar in Outland and is suitable for players level 63 and above. You can find out what to expect in the instance in our guide.
The Mana Tomb in the Heavy World version of Auchindoun in Terokkar Forest is one of the dungeons in The Burning Crusade that will become available with WoW Patch 6.2 via the Timewalking event. Since your characters will be scaled down to level 70 for the duration of the instance visit, the mana grave actually plays like it did back then. The only difference is that you’ll have more skills at your disposal, of course. Accordingly, we have only rudimentarily adapted our guide to the dungeon, as it has lost none of its validity despite time travel. Have fun!
The Mana Tomb, located north of Auchindoun, is the first instance you can explore in Terokkar Forest. Despite the stated difficulty level (level 63 and up), the enemies that appear in groups quickly clear up with inexperienced groups. Mana Tomb Quests:
quest name | fraction | quest giver | task | particularities |
Undermine the competition | Both | Nexus Prince Haramad | Kill Nexus-Prince Shafar | – |
Someone’s work pays off | Both | Nexus Prince Haramad | Escort the engineer to the exit | Activation of the astral console (point 3 on the map) with follow-up order |
safety first | Designer Morphalius | Kill 10 Astral Crypt Raiders , 5 Nexus Walkers , 5 Astral Spellcasters and 5 Astral Spellbinders | Activation of the astral console (point 3 on the map) with follow-up order |
You will love it in the first few meters
The elite enemies always face your party in pairs or in groups of three or four. The astral tomb raiders deal physical damage. The Astral Wizards are immune to physical damage, attack you with arcane projectiles, and summon arcane beasts that wander into the party and wreak havoc with arcane blasts. Rogues or mages help here especially the group with HEADKNOCK or TRANSFORMATION. Important: Eliminate the mages first.
Strong grave robbers
Then you go into the actual crypt. You do the patrols and guards according to the known scheme. In the passage to and in the mana crypt, there are also astral priests and astral robbers. The priests are your primary targets here, healing their cronies and bombarding you with Holy Nova. The patrols are best tackled with TRANSFORMATION, eliminating the remaining companions. Be careful with the Nexus Horrors, they use PSYCHIC SCREAM and send you across the room. Kill the groups standing to the side first, unless you can use Fear Screams. Important. Don’t let the mana suckers get near your group, they will put an abrupt end to any exploration with arcane explosions. If you have enough ranged fighters in your party, take on the critters at the same time.
Powerful arguments
In the Crescent Moon Hall, you will encounter astral crypt robbers, priests, mages, and astral black mages. The latter randomly lay MANABRAND and SHADOWWORD:PAIN on magically gifted party members. Again, flatten the priest first, then the rest of the party. Important: HEADKNOCK and TRANSFORM are interrupted after a short time (about half the normal time), so you should always keep an eye on the immobilized enemies.
The
Dome Halls In the next section of the instance, Astral Nexuswalkers, Astral Theurges, and Astral Wizards patrol and guard. While the nexuswalkers deal heavy damage, the spellcasters are the primary target. In the second roundel you will find the control panel of the astral transporter. Secure the room first before pressing on the cube. Important: After activating the control panel, you can accept a companion quest. This will lead the way back to the exit of the instance. In each room, your party will be attacked by four to five new enemies that suddenly appear. Before accepting the quest, make sure that the previous rooms have been thoroughly cleaned.
Tactics are crucial
The very challenging escort mission requires good teamwork and the right tactics. The enemy group suddenly appears and you are immediately in the fight. So you can’t use HEADNUT or FALL. Ideally, the mages transform one or two attackers (depending on the number of mages in the group), your priest uses MIND CONTROL. In the best case, three of the four enemies are now eliminated. In the last room there are only a few enemies left, which you finish off in the usual way and the way to the final boss is thus quickly paved.
Bosses in the Mana Crypt
Pandemonius
After the first turn, Pandemonius, a void shifter, is waiting for you. He casts DARK SHELL on himself every 15 seconds and reflects all damage for 5 seconds. In addition, Pandemonius attacks you with a moderate SHADOWBLIGHT. While the DARK SHIELD is active, the damage dealers stop all damaging actions. Only the tank fights for Pandemonius’ attention. Once your faction has conquered the PvP area, you can easily capture Ghost Shards from Pandemonius. Within the lockout period (for recapturing the PvP towers), you can reset the instance five times and kill the first boss.
Tavarok
At the end of the hall, Tavarok, the second boss of the instance, awaits you. In addition to a concussive EARTHQUAKE that fills the entire room, he incapacitates one player from the party with CRYSTAL PRISON for five seconds at irregular intervals. During this time, the party member is incapacitated, cannot be healed, and takes damage per second. To defeat Tavarok, it is important that ranged fighters are at maximum distance from Tavarok to avoid suffering too much from the earthquake and that the tank can hold aggro. Tip: Miners can search Tavarok for ores and gems after his demise.
Nexus Prince Shaffar
The final boss awaits you at the end of the last hall. The prince himself is an easy opponent despite his health points, as he only attacks with frost magic. The three astral beacons (non-elite) act much more violently. The companions hurl lightning and arcane projectiles at the party, and if they don’t fall within 15 seconds, they turn into Astral Beacons (elite), which quickly finish off the party.
Important: The beacons reappear after 30 seconds. This is where tactics and mana supply ultimately decide, because you need to finish off the beacons quickly in order to focus the damage back on the Nexus Prince. As soon as new beacons appear, they are quickly eliminated by at least two party members. The others continue to do damage to Shaffar.
