WoW: Legion Patch 7.1.5 – The “Call of the Scarab” Micro-Holiday is now on the PTR!

After the release of the upcoming World of Warcraft Legion Patch 7.1.5, the micro-holiday starts in January 2017: The “Call of the Scarab”. The spectacle can now be tried out on the public test realm (PTR). Here we have first information and pictures for you!

In the coming year, the first so-called Micro-Holiday will take place at the same time as the start of the annual Moon Festival from January 21st to 23rd, 2017. Micro-Holidays are smaller holiday events that begin on different occasions and celebrate specific events that once took place in the World of Warcraft . In particular, newcomers who entered Blizzard’s MMO (much) later can get an impression of the events from days long gone.

The World of Warcraft Legion – Patch 7.1.5, which is currently available to try on the Public Test Realm (PTR), brings the micro-holidays to the live servers, and the first of these special holidays is the “Call of the Scarab” to commemorate the most elaborate cross-server community ever launched in WoW -Event. During this epic event from Classic WoW times, players from both factions had to collect vast amounts of resources before a “chosen” player could ring the famous gong that opened the gates of Ahn’Quiraj in the Silithus desert. This in turn was preceded by a very extensive quest line, in the context of which the respective player had to secure the scepter of the sandstorms. As a reward, the lucky one was given the only legendary mount in the game so far,, as well as the title Scarab Lord. The Gates of Ahn’Quiraj was first opened on January 23, 2006 by a guild from the US server Medivh, and it eventually gave access to the two new raids Ruins of Ahn’Quiraj and Temple of Ahn’Quiraj .

As part of the “Call of the Scarab” micro-holiday, you will get to know the spectacle from January 21, 2017 in a more manageable version in the form of legion world quests in the Silithus desert. These range from the collecting tasks and quests typical of the time to killing world bosses to the raid bosses in the ruins of Ahn’Quiraj and the Temple of Ahn’Quiraj . The itemization of the event seems a bit strange: While the world bosses with level 113 and several hundred million life points bring you fat, usable loot, the raid bosses are currently on the PTR the old level 60 “loons”, which you as a fully grown level 110 “Legionnaire” you can simply clap solo. Accordingly, their loot only has a nostalgic value.

For completing these world quests, you or your faction will receive the special currency Qiraij points. The faction that has brought in the most of them at the end of the Mirco-Holiday wins a banner, which is then emblazoned next to the famous scarab gong in Silithus for a year. In the following gallery you can see some pictures from the “Call of the Scarab” Micro-Holiday on the PTR, which contain further information and texts, among other things.

Important NOTE!
In the coming weeks, one more of the new micro-holidays will be playable on the public test realm (PTR) every day. After the “Call of the Scarab” Micro-Holiday today, the “Kirin Tor Tavern Crawl” continues. The entire testing phase ends only before Christmas Eve on December 23, 2016, which could be an indication that the upcoming patch 7.1.5 will not be released this year anymore.
