WoW Guide Zul’Farrak

Sandfury trolls continue to live in the troll instance of Zul’Farrak in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Cataclysm has only affected a few quests: The fight for undamaged scarab shells or troll hardeners is a thing of the past. The new quests here are limited to killing bosses.

Preparation
The instance entrance to Zul’Farrak is located at the northwestern tip of Tanaris. When you step through the portal, you will immediately be greeted by three quest givers who will provide you with a total of four quests. Before you get to the first boss, you’ll have to fight through many trash groups that will attack you with shadow and fire magic. If your party has classes with enemy control abilities, don’t be afraid to use them.

Antu’sul (1)
Fight your way through the Sandfury Trolls, take the first passage on the left, the next on the right, and turn northeast in the scarab area. You will see a cave that seems harmless at first glance. However, if you get too close to this cave, Antu’sul will jump out and attack you. Therefore, first take out the enemies in the area and only then venture into the cave. Antu’zul will immediately summon some crocolisks that your tank should attract. He’ll also set up various totems that you’ll destroy with direct attacks. Damage dealers and healers spread around the boss to stop his chain lightning from jumping. His Earth Shock interrupts any player’s spell – healers need to be especially careful here. After killing the smaller Crocolisks, Antu’sul occasionally summons larger Crocolisks that deal more damage than their predecessors. Take care of them before directing your damage at Antu’sul.

Witch Doctor Zum’rah (2) Head
west now toward Witch Doctor Zum’rah. Leave the Shallow Tombs alone on your way. If you use them, zombies will appear and attack you. On your right you see the witch doctor, who is friendly to you at first. However, if you get too close to him, he will attack you. He works you with shadow bolts and shadow bolt salvos. In addition, he keeps summoning zombies, skeletons and dead heroes that you have to kill along the way. Also destroy his ward totems to prevent further skeletal spawns.

The Staircase (3)
Follow the path further west and you’ll come to a large square with a huge staircase at the opposite end. Unfortunately, there are still some groups of trolls blocking your way here. Eliminate them and climb the stairs. It is advisable to clear the entire square of enemies here, so you won’t have any extra trolls in the next boss fight. At the top of the stairs, kill the Sandfury Executioner. One member of your party loots the Executioner’s Key from his corpse and uses it to open the troll cages in the gallery. If you look at the bottom of the stairs, you’ll see a whole cluster of trolls waiting for you. Again and again, scattered trolls will run towards you and try to attack the freed ones. After some time, the leader of the liberated troop decides to go down the stairs. At the bottom, some Sandfury zealots, the shadow priest Sezz’ziz and Nekrum the Eviscerator are waiting for you. Sezz’ziz plagues you and the NPCs with Shadow Lightning and Fear effects. He also occasionally heals himself and his allies. Meanwhile, Nekrum spreads a fever plague that you can eliminate with plague removal effects. Once you’ve knocked down the enemies, replenish your mana pool and recover from the fight. Afterwards, talk to Sergeant Bly, who is not pleased. He and his allies will attack you while the Goblin escapes and opens the gate to the next boss. As much as possible, remove debilitating effects from your teammates and interrupt healing spells. Also remove yourself from the area of effect of enemy area abilities.

Chief Ukroz Sandscalp (4)
Continue through the left staircase on the right side. Kill the snakes and crocolisks on the right and left before you take on Chief Ukroz Sandscalp and his servant Ruuzlu. The tank turns the two opponents away from the group so that no other player is hit by the splitting effects. The healer is particularly challenged here, because he must not let the tank fall below 20 percent life energy – otherwise Ruuzlu uses his execution, which causes heavy damage. In addition, the chief goes into a frenzy for two minutes, which greatly increases the damage dealt. Damage dealers and healers stay behind enemies. First kill Ruuzlu and then the chief. Even if you already get the success for Zul’Farrak at this point, another boss opponent is waiting for you.
