On the island of Quel’Danas you will find the Terrace of Magisters, which is suitable for heroes level 70 and above. What awaits you in the 5-player dungeon, which now awaits you again in Burning Crusade Classic, you can find out in our WoW guide.
The faction “Shattered Sun Offensive” sends level 70 heroes to the Terrace of Magisters. For the instance you need a classic group of five consisting of a tank, a healer and three damage classes.

The Terrace of Magisters | Both | Exarch Larethor | Find the blood elf spy named Tyrith | Necessary to gain access to the heroic mode |
Preparation
In your quest to find brave comrades-in-arms for the five-man instance on Sunwell Isle, there are a few things you should keep in mind. Choose at least one player who has enemy control skills. If you want to be on the safe side, take two. Mages, hunters, or rogues are very helpful. Since the whole group often takes a lot of damage, priests and shamans are especially good healers, since they can treat several targets at once. Druids are also suitable because of their healing-over-time spells.
Unruly Gang of Four
Once the hero squad is assembled, you can enter the instance. First you have to cross a bridge, where the first blood elves are already waiting for you. Most groups consist of four opponents and are made up of blood knights, magic guards, magicians, healers or warlocks. Warlocks deal a lot of fire damage. Blood knights heal their companions and attack you with a damage-over-time spell. Magic Guardians occasionally cast a magic field on a random player’s position that reduces the healing received and magic damage taken by all characters in the field by 75%. Magisters cast Arcane Blasts and Frostbolts, and receive a buff with each spell that increases their spell speed. Healers keep other enemies alive with a Prayer of Mending and apply a poison to their weapons that deals 2,000 points of natural damage per hit.
You should take out warlocks and blood knights by stunning them, transforming them, or luring them into an ice cold trap. Then fight the warlocks’ companions or the magisters. After that, deal with the magic guards and healers. Only then will you have to fight the sorcerers and blood knights.
Keep your group together
In the following room there are large groups of Drifters, which you should not fight with area damage. Instead, lure them out of the room and strike them down one by one in the hallway. Do not enter the room with the first boss Selin Fireheart until you have killed all the Driven and your health and mana are back to maximum.
Selin Fireheart
The fight against Selin is similar to the one against Warlord Kalithresh, the final boss of the Steam Chamber. Tank the boss and do lots of damage. After a while, Selin runs to one of the green crystals and drains energy from it. Destroy the crystal before Fireheart can drain it completely and then turn back to the boss. He uses the mana gained from the crystals for a “Mana Explosion” that damages the entire party. Occasionally Selin will cast “Bloodsuck” on the tank, this ability can be interrupted or removed by priests.
Abilities:
- Tap Mana: Drains energy from a nearby crystal, regenerating the boss’s mana supply by 10 percent with each tick. The more energy drained from the crystal, the stronger Fireheart becomes. Occurs when Fireheart has depleted its mana.
- Mana Explosion: Occurs after “Tap Mana” and deals 1,000 points of damage to all players. Uses up 10% of Selin’s mana.
- Bloodsuck: Drains life from a player and heals Fireheart. Can be interrupted.
- Mana Eyes: Drains mana from a player. Can be interrupted.
Vexallus
The fight against Vexallus is linear. The tank takes care of him while the rest of the party deals damage. Spread out well in the room, because at regular intervals Vexallus summons small energy clouds. You can only attack the clouds for a few seconds; after that, it can’t be targeted anymore, although it continues to deal damage. She sends bolts of energy at a randomly selected player, causing the damage done to the target to increase by 50%. The effect is at the same time a damage-over-time spell that stacks three times. In addition, nearby players also receive damage, so the healer must be on their toes. Damage classes that are debuffed must also be careful not to steal the threat from the tank. If Vexallus is low on health, he will overcharge and damage the entire party. Therefore, bring him down as soon as possible.
Abilities:
- Pure Energy: Vexallus summons Pure Energy, which casts energy bolts on nearby players, dealing 3,000 points of arcane damage. In addition, players who kill one of the energy clouds receive the debuff Energy Return, which increases the damage dealt by 50% but deals 400 points of arcane damage to the affected player every 3 seconds and stacks up to three times.
- Overcharge: Vexallus overcharges and deals approximately 1,000 points of Arcane damage to all party members periodically, increasing their Arcane damage taken by 10 percent per hit. The effect stacks up to five times.
The missing spy
Once you have defeated Selin Fireheart, the door to the next room will open. Directly to the left of the entrance you will find Spy Tyrith, whom you should search for the quest “The Terrace of Magisters”. He will send you to a seer orb, which is located on a balcony behind the second boss. Unfortunately, some Light Scale Wyrms and the boss Vexallus block your way there. Fight the wyrm groups one by one with area damage. If a Pale Scale Wyrm dies, you will receive 100 mana points and a buff that increases your damage by 1 percent. Since this effect stacks up to 25 times and only lasts a short time, you should hurry to take advantage of the damage bonus when fighting Vexallus.
The blue dragon swarm
Now you will get to the Seer Sphere. If you use it, you will experience a flight around the Sunwell Plateau raid instance. After that, the dragon Kalecgos will land and give you the final task for accessing the Heroic Mode of the Magisters’ Terrace – you should capture the head of Kael’thas.
On the right side you will enter the next room. There, some Sunblade Shield Guards patrol, occasionally shooting Devil’s Lightning bolts into your party and dealing about 1,700 points of damage. You’ll fight the Blood Elf groups in the next rooms like the ones you already took down at the beginning. Be careful, though, because some Nagas or Astraleum followers may join them. In the courtyard, Priestess Delrissa and her henchmen are already waiting for you, blocking your way to Kael’thas. After defeating Delrissa, you will clear out a group of Nagas, Astrals and Blood Elves and face the stricken Prince Kael’thas Sunwalker.
Priestess Delrissa
Before you begin the fight with Delrissa, first eliminate the rest of the enemies in the courtyard. The priestess has four randomly selected minions at her side, each with 30,000 hit points. Disable as many of her companions as possible via enemy control (ice cold trap, sheep, shackles, etc.). Your adversaries are immune to taunt or similar abilities, which makes tanking much more difficult. You’ll also have to deal with all sorts of negative effects. Especially the rogue Kagani and the warrior Salaris are dangerous. Your damage classes must either kill them immediately or you take them out of the fight via enemy control abilities. For his part, the mage Yazzai turns players into sheep. Apoko, a shaman, places totems and heals his comrades. The order in which you kill the enemies depends on your party composition as well as the selection of the four minions. The battle is comparable to an arena match: Don’t let your opponents get their turn.
Skills:
Priestess Delrissa
- Shadow Word Pain: Deals 320 points of shadow damage every 3 seconds.
- Lightning Heal: Heals an ally for a few points of health.
- Renewal: Heals allies and herself by 430 points every 3 seconds.

- Battlecry: Increases the attack power of all allies.
- Intercept: Charges towards the target and stuns it for three seconds.
- Disarm: Disarms the target for a few seconds.
Apoko (Shaman)
- Frost Shock: Slows the target and deals 1,500 to 1,800 points of frost damage.

Ellry’s Dawnblast (Warlock)

- Seed of Corruption: Deals damage over time. Then, the affected player explodes and takes further damage, hitting nearby players as well.
Zelfan (Engineer)
- Exploding Sheep: Sets up a mechanical sheep that explodes after a short time, dealing damage to all nearby players.
- Goblin Missile Launcher: Deals damage to players in a cone-shaped area in front of it for ten seconds.
- Devil Iron Bomb: Throws a bomb that stuns and damages all players in its area of effect for two seconds.
Yazzai (Mage)
- Frostbolt: Slows the target.
- Cone of Cold: Hits targets in front of Yazzai in a cone-shaped area with frost damage.
- Frost Nova: Freezes targets in the immediate area for a few seconds.
- Transformation: Turns a randomly selected player into a sheep.
Kael’thas Sunwalker
In addition to his melee hits, the somewhat battered Kael’thas harms the tank with fireballs. You can interrupt these or throw them back with Spell Reflection. Kael’thas also casts a flame blast on a random player, and you must leave the area of effect immediately. After a while, the boss summons a Phoenix that deals area damage in its vicinity. Therefore, a ranged fighter lures it away from the boss and walks with it for a round. The Phoenix will explode after some time, creating a blast wave and leaving an egg behind. Destroy the egg before a new firebird hatches from it.
When the boss is at 50 percent of its hit points, it casts the Gravity Loss spell and keeps you in the air with energy beams. While you’re floating in the air, stay away from the orbs flying around, because they do a lot of damage on contact. During this phase, your damage classes will continue to attack the prince. Make sure you stay within the range of your healer. If you touch the ground, you will be catapulted back into the air. After 30 seconds this state ends and you land again. Kael’thas is incapacitated for a short time and suffers double damage during this time. After a short breather, he casts gravity loss again. The game continues until the Sun Prince finally gives in.
Abilities:
- Fireball: Hits the target with 2,000 points of fire damage.
- Flame Strike: The perimeter around a randomly selected player bursts into flames, dealing approximately 3,500 to 4,000 points of damage in its area of effect.
- Gravity Loss: All players are lifted into the air and can move freely, but take 400 points of damage per second.
- Arcane Sphere: Kael’thas summons three Arcane Spheres during Gravity Loss, which deal 2,000 points of damage on contact.
- Phoenix: Kael’thas summons a Phoenix that deals 2,000 damage to itself and you within 10 yards. It also throws fireballs of 1,500 points of fire damage at its target. If the phoenix dies, it explodes and hits players within its radius with fire damage. After its death, it leaves behind an egg from which a new phoenix hatches after about 30 seconds.
