The Forsaken, commanded by Lady Sylvanas, continue to fight the Scarlet Crusade in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. In the Scarlet Monastery, the undead have already taken the entrance area and have penetrated deeper into the monastery. By the way, there are no undead on the Alliance side, but members of the Scarlet Crusade itself will give you missions. In our guide you will learn which bosses you have to face and which items you can get as a reward
Preparation
The Scarlet Monastery is located in the north-eastern part of Tirisfal Glades and offers a total of four different instances for different tier ranges. You can reach the individual dance portals through the large vestibule. There are quests for each instance that you can accept directly behind the respective portals. You can visit the following sections:
– Graveyard (left instance portal)
– Library (right instance portal)
– Armory (left gate)
– Cathedral (right gate)
Scarlet Monastery – The Graveyard (Left Instance Portal)
Interrogator Vishas (1)
Enter the Chamber of Penance through the door on the left side of the first corridor. The first boss is already in the north-east corner of the room: Interrogator Vishas. First, kill the rest of the enemies in the room. The Interrogator itself primarily strikes in melee, but also distributes two different magic damage-over-time debuffs to random players.
Blood Mage Thalnos (2)
Follow the path further and cross the graveyard to the cenotaph. On the lowest level of the tomb you will meet the blood mage Thalnos, who will afflict the tank with shadow bolts, and randomly selected players with magical firebrands. Ranged fighters and healers stay away from the boss to avoid being hit by his fire nova. From time to time he casts his Flame Spike on an area under a player. Get out of the danger zone to avoid the fire damage.
Scarlet Monastery – The Library (Right Instance Portal)
Houndmaster Loksey (3)
When looking at the enemy groups in the library, you pay particular attention to the adepts, because they occasionally heal their injured allies. Fight your way through the Hunter’s Cloister and head south to Houndmaster Loksey’s residence. The Hound Master empowers himself and his four-legged companions with a battle cry that increases their melee attack power. In addition, he acts on himself and some other dogs a fighting frenzy, which increases the attack speed by 30 percent. Kill the hounds before working on the hound master.
Arcanist Doan (4)
The path to the next and final boss leads through the Gallery of Treasures and the Athanaeum. Pillars make some rooms very confusing – be careful not to accidentally attract the attention of other enemies or to run out of sight of your healer. Arcanist Doan roams the tunden room at the end of the Athanaeum. The mage casts arcane explosions that hit all nearby players, dealing high damage. He also casts a Silence effect on all nearby players. Ranged fighters and healers are therefore best kept in the entrance area of the room, while the tank pulls Doan to the other end of the room. He also occasionally picks a player and turns them into a sheep. If you can remove magical effects, you should free the transformed. At around 50 percent health, the arcanist envelops himself in an arcane bubble, making him immune to all attacks for 8 seconds. During this time, he also casts a detonation that hits all players within 30 yards for very high damage. Since the magician does not move during this time, all players, including the tank, leave the room to avoid being hit by the detonation.
Scarlet Monastery – The Armory (Right Gate)
Herod (5)
In the armory you will only find a boss opponent who is at the end of the corridors. Pass the training grounds and armories until you arrive at the Hall of Heroes. Extra tip: On the north-east wall of the Crusader Armory you will find red fireworks that you can collect. In the Hall of Heroes, Herod stands on the lower level. The tank occupies the herod in the center of the room, while ranged fighters and healers position themselves on the stairs to the side. Melee fighters only stay behind the boss to avoid being hit by his cleave attack. Also, they are preparing to run away from the Herod. When he launches his whirlwind, he deals high damage to all players who are too close to him. In addition, he becomes immune to magic attacks. The tank also moves away during the vortex. However, if the tank runs too far, the Herod will charge and deal additional damage on the first hit. Once you’ve beaten the boss down to 50 percent of his hit points, the Herod will become angry and strike 60 percent faster. After he dies, gather in the center of the room and prepare for a mass attack of at least 20 Scarlet Apprentices. Your tank will keep them busy while you eliminate them with area attacks. By the way, with a bit of luck they can carry a rare tabard as loot. the Herod gets angry and strikes 60 percent faster. Scarlet Monastery – The Cathedral (Left Gate)
High Inquisitor Fair Shore (6)
Via the chapel garden you reach the chapel of the crusaders. On the way there are some patrols that you have to watch out for. There are many enemy groups within the chapel, which you should best lure in front of the chapel door individually. Completely eliminate all enemies in the chapel and go to the chamber in the east wing. However, be careful not to get too close to the commander Mograine, otherwise you will start the final battle of the monastery. Inside the chamber you will see a torch on the back wall on the left. Use them to open a secret door. High Inquisitor Schönufer is hiding behind the door. He will only attack you if you attack him. During combat, he repeatedly casts a blood curse on the tank, increasing the physical damage it takes. Do you have magic buffs on your tank? Schönufer occasionally removes them. In addition, he randomly selects players who he either frightens with a fear effect or puts them into a sleep state. The sleep state can also hit the tank, causing it to lose all threat. Remove this magical effect if you can. From time to time, Schönufer protects himself with a shield that absorbs damage.
