WoW boss Lord Mark’gar is the first boss in Icecrown Citadel that expects level 80 heroes.

The first boss in Icecrown Citadel – Lord Mark’gar – is a mixture of Supremus and the High Warlord Naj’entus from the Black Temple. Since the boss attacks with a “saber whip”, you need two tanks that are in each other. The Lash is a melee attack that deals 200 percent of the usual melee damage, but splits evenly between tanks. Occasionally, the bone spirit throws a “bone spike” at a randomly selected player — only the tanks are safe from this attack. The victims of the “Bone Spike” are incapacitated and lose ten percent of their maximum hit points per second. You have to put the players out of their misery by destroying the spikes with your attacks. Meanwhile, the healers provide an extra dose of healing.
Lord Mark’gar’s main ability is Bone Storm. His bones fall apart and he flies through space in the form of a whirlwind. Mark’gar keeps targeting randomly selected players, who then run away as quickly as possible. You can’t escape the damage of the whirlwind, but you take less damage the further away you are from the boss. Occasionally, Mark’gar will pause briefly during the whirlwind and cast his “Ice Flames” — another ability the boss will use to put some fire under your butt. These lines of flame slowly spread out from Lord Mark’gar in all four cardinal directions. If you let it touch you, you will suffer high fire damage.
Lord Mark’gar – Hardmode/Heroic (10 players)
Except for the increased damage his abilities deal and the increased hitpoints of the boss and his bone spikes, nothing changes in the first phase of the fight in the hardmode encounter with Lord Mark’. However, if he starts the Bone Storm, you should be careful. Boiling Storm damage is near-lethal on Heroic difficulty once you are in Mark’gar’s melee zone for more than three seconds. When he casts the ability, you immediately run away from the Bone Spirit and stay away. Unfortunately, the boss also locks a player in the bone spikes twice during this phase of the fight before normal combat continues. Get your fellow players out of this precarious situation as quickly as possible by having your damage dealers deal damage to the spikes immediately. However, make sure Keeping you out of the Ice Flames and keeping your distance from Lord Mark’gar. Healers are particularly in demand in this situation as they need to heal the players in the Bone Spikes as well as the rest of the raid. It takes a lot of damage even with correct combat conduct.

Getting Started
All players with an active World of Warcraft subscription or game time on their accounts have access toWoW Classic at no additional cost.
- Open the Blizzard Battle.net Desktop App and select World of Warcraft from the menu.
- Select World of Warcraft Classic from the Version menu. If you have more than one World of Warcraft account, you’ll see a second Account drop-down list. In this column, select the active account you want to play with.
- Click the Install button. The progress bar will tell you when your game is ready to play.
- Click the Play button when the installation is complete.
You will need to select the realm you want to play on from several different realm types. Make sure you choose the same realm as your friends – in World of Warcraft Classic, you can only group with characters that are on the same realm as you!
