WoW Guide: The Frostthon – The Plagueworks

The WoW Frozen Throne guide will help you survive the Plague Plants. Our guide is valid for 10 and 25 players and heroic mode.

Tactics:
Rotgut is waiting for you in the left part of the Plagueworks wing. You need a lot of damage for him, so go against him with only two tanks and as few healers as possible. You must defeat the boss after five minutes, otherwise he will go into a berserk mode and destroy everything. Nevertheless, this is not a simple tank-and-spank boss fight. Some tricks are needed to bring the monstrosity to its knees.

Like Modermene, Rottenarm stands in the center of the room as a tank, while the melee fighters and healers stand directly behind him. The ranged fighters spread out in one half of the room, which is filled with a few wisps of a “gas plague”. This deals shadow damage to all players every two seconds, which your party healers, preferably druids, must counteract. Make sure the ranged players are more than eight meters apart, because a random player who is not in melee range will be attacked with a “Disgusting Gas”. This not only deals damage for six seconds, but also causes the victim to vomit, damaging nearby players. The current tank is also periodically hit with a stackable “Stomach Bloat” that deals one-time damage on each hit and increases the tank’s damage per charge by 10%. When the bloat reaches ten stacks, the tank explodes and kills all nearby players with it. Therefore, two tanks are needed, alternating after the ninth stack.

About every 30 seconds, Rotgut inhales the toxic fumes of the room, which reduces the damage of “Gas Plague” but increases his melee damage and attack speed. In total, he inhales the vapors three times. After another 30 seconds, he releases the vapors again, which increases the plague’s damage again, but reduces his melee damage again for the time being. When he releases the vapors, however, he deals significant damage once, which you must dodge. Just before inhaling, two players are infected with a “gas spore”. This lasts for 12 seconds, and you take shadow damage every second. If you survive, you will receive a stack of an inoculation. Players without a spore run to a player with a spore near them and receive the debuff there.” After receiving the debuff, you immediately run back to your original position to avoid the potentially fatal consequences of the “Disgusting Gas”. Red Arm casts his “Gas Spores” spell three times on three players before releasing the inhaled vapors. This will give you three stacks of inoculations, with each stack reducing Shadow damage taken by 25 percent. Your tanks must also make sure to use damage-reducing abilities after the third inhale, the melee damage will be very high. Sluggish 10-player – Heroic
Professor Pestmord also takes part in the heroic encounter with Rotgut and supports his “son”. Rotgut himself doesn’t get any new abilities, but he gets a whole chunk of additional hit points. Don’t waste time in battle, you only have five minutes to go nuts. At regular intervals of about 15 seconds, Plague Murder will throw a “deformable goo” at a random player, whom you should already know from the encounter with the professor himself. You’ll have to dodge these, since they not only do a lot of damage, but also give you the debuff “Deformable goo” for 20 seconds, which extremely slows down your attack and casting speed.

Position the boss on the left side of the room, as far away as possible from the balcony where the professor throws his slime. Melee fighters as well as some healers will stand on the left foot of the boss and move together to the right foot when a Moldable Goo flies in their direction. Stay there until the next slime comes to haunt you. Remember that, as in normal mode, at least three players must be outside the melee zone so that the slime gas doesn’t take out all the melee players. If two players get the “Gas Spore”, you should wait for the next “Deformable Goo” before facing each other. If you run to either player too early, you run the risk of having to close ranks again, or the “Malleable Goo” will hit the entire crowd of players. Don’t run too late, though, because the “Gas Spores” have a shorter range in Heroic mode and you’ll have to stand in the players to get your inoculation.
