You want to send the PvE bosses of the fighting guild onto the mat with your WoW character? Then our guide will help you with tips and tricks for fighting in the fighting guild. In the current part, we’re going to focus on the special bosses that came into play with WoW Patch 5.3.
The World of Warcraft Battle Guild lets you compete against various solo bosses. Most of them are ordered according to the rank structure of the fighting guild and you have to defeat them in order. With patch 5.3, however, a bunch of other bosses came into play, which you first have to unlock.
The quest items required for this can be found in various places in the game world. Sometimes you have to be lucky because they can be found in reward bags – sometimes you have to complete certain quests or interact with certain NPCs. In the following guide we explain the tactics for all of the fighting guild special bosses. We also tell you which items you need to unlock the fights.
WoW: The Battle Guild – Rare Bosses – Grandpa Brummelflute (Rank 4)
Before you can tussle with Grandpa Brummelflut in the arena, you must first obtain a Cheap Brummelflut. But don’t worry: you won’t get any other challenge card that easily. Just fly to the Grumpy Bazaar in Kun-Lai Summit and find Grandpa Grumpyflood there. The old panda is sitting there on a bench, surrounded by teddies, singing around on his flute. Aim at him, enter the command /dance in the chat – and after the common dance the cheap Brummelflut is yours.
The fight against Grandpa Brummelflut is not too difficult, since he does not have any attacks that can be dangerous to you. The fight is made interesting by the various teddies that he summons with the help of his flute. These appear at random positions in the arena and have different abilities. The blue Care Bears…err Lucky Charms…heal you, and the red Lucky Stealers deal damage, but it’s not too high. Only the white bad luck charms that appear as soon as Grandpa Brummelflut falls below the 50 percent health mark can be dangerous. These approach your hero every second and transport you to nirvana immediately upon contact.
So the right tactic is quickly found. Deal out as much damage as possible, especially from 50 percent of his health, Grandpa Brummelflute’s life points should melt to zero in a few seconds – if necessary, you only ignite all of your fighter’s damage-enhancing options in the second half of the fight. You ignore the blue and red teddies, you only keep an eye on the white bad luck charms so that they never come too close to you.
WoW: The Battle Guild – Rare Bosses – Ty’thar (Rank 4)
If you used to have a Super Nintendo console in your room, you’ve probably come into contact with a part of the “Punch-Out!!” game series. The fight against Ty’thar is reminiscent of arcade boxing action. But before you can step into the ring, you must first obtain a Radical Mojo. You can get the necessary item by completing the weekly task in the “Battlefield: Barrens” event introduced in patch 5.3. Near the quest giver is the associated vendor where you can exchange the mojo for the Raptor Hide Boxing Gloves. Now just hand in the hand protection in the fighting guild and off you go.
The rules of the fight are quickly explained. You go to the center of the ring and fight face to face with your opponent Ty’thar. It is not possible to walk around freely, instead you can dodge left, right and back by pressing “A”, “D” and “S”. This is also badly needed, since Ty’thar wields a hard hitting hand and sends you down with one punch. If you kneel three times, you lose the battle. For your part, you must knock down Ty’thar three times to win the fight.
Although you try your hand at a boxing match, you wrestle your opponent down with your usual sequence of blows. You have to bring Ty’thar’s life points to zero three times in total, and he comes back into the fight with less and less health points in the second and third round. A little tip: At the beginning of the fight, it takes a few seconds for Ty’thar to become vulnerable. So don’t ignite your damage-boosting abilities too soon! If you now complement your battle sequence with the appropriate evasive maneuvers, the battle is quickly won. You counter a left hook with “D”, a right punch in turn with “A”. Finally, once Ty’thar triggers his smash, it’s time for an “S”. All enemy attacks have a short cast time,
WoW: The Battle Guild – Rare Bosses – Master Don-Don (Rank 4)
In order to face off against Master Don-Don, you must loot the “Hozen Fur Fuse” from a dead Hozen. The best way to hunt the ape-like beings is to get the quest “The Burlap Massacre” at the Base Camp at Kota in Kun-Lai Summit. Swing onto Kota Kon and keep killing the nearby Hozen until a “Won” window tells you you’ve obtained the “Hozen Fur Fuse”.
The head hozen likes to play with dynamite and lets you marvel at his fireworks up close. The heavy sticks of dynamite that he distributes around the room not only cause a lot of damage, but also stun you for two seconds. You therefore avoid getting too close to the explosive bars as much as possible. Especially melee fighters will take one or the other explosion with them in the tumult of the battle. In such a case, keep the appropriate defensive skills.
Every 30 seconds, Master Don-Don jumps to the center of the room and places “Improved Packed Thundersticks” there that explode with deadly force. Even immunity effects like “Ice Block” (Mage) or “God’s Shield” (Paladin) won’t help you here. You can prevent the explosion by kicking out the four burning fuses before they reach the boxes full of dynamite. Simply run over the four fuses and pack any talents that increase your movement speed, so that you really reach all the burning fuses in time. You also deal damage to Master Don-Don with your normal combat rotation. He doesn’t have that much health, so about 50,000 damage per second is enough to finish him off before the berserk phase.
WoW: The Battle Guild – Rare Bosses – Grin Tooth (Rank 5)
All of you who don’t like fishing will now swear: The Grin Tooth challenge card is only available when you sit by a body of water in Pandaria and fish for an “Extremely Sharp Tooth”. The chance of this is highest in the fishing grounds of Pandaria – and where are the most fishing grounds? The NPC “Ben with the Booming Voice”, who you will find east of the settlement of Halfhill in the Valley of the Four Winds, will tell you this. After about half an hour we had the quest item on the hook there, which of course we immediately delivered to the fighting guild.
The bad-tempered Shark Grinfang might look a bit awkward on land, but melee fighters in particular should approach the Rank 5 challenge with some respect. Grinfang’s bite is deadly – so it’s not a good idea to get near its teeth. Long-range fighters have less of a problem with this, since the shark, despite its “flop”, is not agile enough to catch up with your hero. Simply cover the shark with your spells and ranged attacks while keeping as much distance as possible to the wriggling fish and enjoy the quickly earned gold pieces.
Melee fighters, on the other hand, have a problem. The shark cannot be stunned, and you are not safe from the razor-sharp teeth on the tail either. So even front-line pigs have to act from a distance. That wasn’t a problem with our Amplifier Shaman, because thanks to the strong elementals, our “Burning Totem” and the lightning spells and shocks, we have more than enough options to dish out enough damage over a distance. In any case, villains take their “shuriken throw” with them, the death knights are helped by the “army of the dead” and paladins and monks fall back on their few ranged attacks. Only warriors are left out at the moment because they don’t have any real ranged attacks that deal enough damage.
WoW: The Battle Guild – Rare Bosses – Splat (Rank 5)
Before you can jump into the fight against the red slime Splat, you must first acquire the corresponding challenge card. But first you need the vial with reddish slime. With a bit of luck, you can find the quest item in a Big Treasure Chest that you receive after completing a normal or heroic random scenario. You then give the item to the card dealer of your fighting guild.
At first glance, Splat looks like the bigger and badder version of Blat, which you already fought at rank 3. In fact, the basic structure of combat is based on the same mechanics. The giant blob creates countless copies of itself via “Split” during the course of the battle, all with only one goal in mind: to finish you off. In contrast to Blat, his big sister has a much larger life cushion with almost seven million health points, she also distributes much more powerfully, creates slimy copies faster and finally leaves a toxic trail of slime that you should definitely avoid.
Luckily, Splat moves around the arena much faster than the summoned copies, so you can easily drag the red slime monster around the battlefield without getting touched by the little goo creatures. If you hit several copies plus splat, you’ll be kissing the dirty dust of the arena within moments. So melee fighters grab Splat as soon as she appears and immediately run backwards to the edge of the arena, then drag her across the room. Never stop, avoid the poisoned areas and still do your normal combat rotation. As a long-distance fighter, you avoid all contact with the slime beings. Just make sure that you pull your opponents through the arena on the largest possible path,
WoW: The Battle Guild – Rare Bosses – Splash and Splash (Rank 5)
Those of you who already have high-level pets will be happy now: You can only get this challenge card by defeating the elite battle pet Splash, which you will find in the north of Icecrown (just above the shadow vault). Pack at least two pets that are particularly efficient against aquatic creatures, then the fight shouldn’t be a problem for you. If you don’t already have high-level battle pets, your animal gladiators must be at least level 23 to have a chance against Splashy. After defeating the Penguin, you will receive the Frosty Eggshell, which entitles you to fight Splashy and Splashy.
You were already allowed to fight against Splash at the second Battle Guild rank, but this time he has his big brother Splash with him. Although he waddles through the arena quite lazily, he has significantly more health points than the little penguin. And as with the first encounter, the same applies this time: The “Pick” attack is deadly, so the two opponents must never swing out to strike you. It’s a good thing that the two penguins fall over every time you attack them and get completely out of step.
Since Planschi is the much faster of the two penguins, you turn to him first. Chase it in front of you with attacks without letting it find time to mess around with its beak while avoiding its big brother’s proximity. If necessary, you briefly change the target to send Splash to the seat of your pants – this way you gain some air to reposition yourself. Note that once the penguins have their backs to a wall, they can no longer be knocked over. So you can only drive splash and splash in front of you up to the next wall, after that you have to reorient yourself.
One last note for all melee fighters: Before you dare to go within close range of a penguin, you should first knock your victim down with a ranged attack. Only then can you safely go near your adversary.
WoW: The Battle Guild – Rare Bosses – Blingtron 3000 (Rank 6)
In order to be able to compete against the Blingtron 3000, a bit of luck is required above all else. The quest item necessary for the map can be found in the Blingtron 4000 gift packs, which you receive for completing the daily quest Blingtron 4000, with a small chance. If you are not an engineer yourself or do not know an engineer friend, then you will often find players in the capitals or in the shrines in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms who will set up their Blingtron for everyone to see. If you find the Dusty Old Robot in the chest, take it to the Battle Guild right away.
The sparkling robot appears in the back right corner of the arena at the start of the fight and stays there the entire time. He himself has only one attack with the “largely reliable rocket”, which you can easily dodge, since a red circle clearly marks the impact point of the projectiles. In addition, Blingtron 3000 has so many life points that you can never bring them to zero before the start of the berserker phase without help. This is where the little Blingtron 2000 come into play, which regularly emerge from the gold pile next to your adversary.
The little helpers don’t deal too much damage and, with around 143,000 life points, have little stability. If you get the Mini Blingtrons’ health to 1, they will be stunned in place and act as a great lightning rod from that moment on. Kill seven to eight of the Little Assistants, using their stunned bodies to form a continuous line that extends from the Blingtron 3000 to the opposite corner of the arena, where a Gnomish Tesla Coil is standing. If you now activate the Tesla coil, a bolt of lightning will jump from one Blingtron 2000 to the next, until your actual opponent is finally hit. Caution: If you stand too close to the little robots, you will catch an electric shock, which will give you a free pass to the spirit healer.
Eventually, if the defeated robot bodies are close enough and you keep enough distance, the Blingtron 3000 will be hit by the electric shock, stunning it for a while. At the same time, he now takes 900 percent more damage. Therefore, from now on, you ignore all further mini-Blingtrons, ignite all your damage-increasing abilities and finish off the robot before it wakes up.
WoW: The Battle Guild – Rare Bosses – Mecha-Bruce (Rank 6)
One of the easiest challenge cards to obtain is certainly the one for Mecha-Bruce, Bruce’s big, mechanical brother, whom you already had to defeat at rank 1. Simply buy the “Challenge Card: Bruce” from the Battle Guild Card Trader, defeat the tame crocolisk again – and as a reward you will be able to fight Mecha-Bruce.
Bruce’s big brother has a few new abilities in addition to significantly more life points – but basically both fights play similarly. You already know the “Powerful Bite”: The attack causes 100 percent of the normal damage and also applies a debuff to your hero, which reduces his armor by 20 percent for five seconds. On the other hand, the “Mjam Mjam Mjam” ability has been replaced by the more dangerous version “Omnomnomnomnomnomnomnom”: Mecha-Bruce deals seven quick bites in front of him that would tear you to pieces immediately. The only thing that helps here is a quick evasion into the back of the crocolisk.
Escape from the bites is made more difficult by the “Stasis Beam”, which stuns your hero for 3 seconds. However, since Bruce only casts the beam after “Better, Stronger, Faster”, you can avoid the stun. Fight the crocolisk in a corner of the room. Once he casts “Better, Stronger, Faster” you flee to the far corner of the arena where the stun doesn’t hit you. However, if you go into battle with companions, feel free to take the stun. The armored reptile then turns to your companion and leaves you alone.
“Better, Stronger, Faster” increases Mecha-Bruce’s movement or casting speed at regular intervals, so that he casts his skills faster and his attacks become more and more dangerous for you the longer the fight lasts. It is therefore important to bring the life points of the crocolisk to zero as quickly as possible. Melee fighters don’t bother escaping the “Stasis Beam” if they have a companion by their side to intercept the “Omnomnomnomnomnomnomnom” attack and keep bludgeoning Mecha-Bruce. Deal as much damage as possible and defeat the crocolisk before it gets too strong.
WoW: The Battle Guild – Rare Bosses – Ro-Shambo (Rank 7)
On your farm, not only crops fall during the harvest, but with a bit of luck also a stone wrapped in paper. This quest item unlocks the fight against Ro-Shambo for you. So, diligently grow crops!
Ro-Shambo is an animated hand that appears in the arena at the start of combat and has no significant attacks other than melee strikes. To do this, she challenges you up to three times to a game of “rock, paper, scissors” – the result has a decisive influence on the further course of the fight. In a special bar, you choose one of the three options within five to six seconds – then your choice is compared with that of Ro-Shambo. Rock beats scissors, scissors beats paper, and paper beats rock. It doesn’t matter whether you lose, win or even fight for a tie: your opponent will then attack you with certain attacks, depending on how he made his choice. The result of the “rock, paper, scissors” game only determines the severity of the attacks.
For example, if Ro-Shambo wins with a stone, stones will quickly roll around everywhere in the arena and you will have to dodge them. If there is a tie, there are significantly fewer stones, they also roll a little slower and deal less damage. And if you win, the paper-wrapped rocks pose little danger as they move very slowly through the battle area. More importantly, Ro-Shambo takes 500 percent more damage in the event of a defeat, which makes the fight much easier – or makes victory possible in the first place.
Ro-Shambo always chooses rock, paper, then scissors in the same order, only his first choice always changes. If you lose to scissors in the first game, your enemy will definitely choose stone in the second round, which you counter with paper. With this knowledge, the luck factor in the game is eliminated, so that you benefit at least twice from the damage increase.
But of course you have to get to the second round first. If you’re losing to rock, what you need most of all is a lot of willingness to walk and overview, as the arena will be full of boulders rolling around. In this phase, too, you have to dish out as much damage as possible to Ro-Shambo – zoom out as far as possible with the camera so that you always have the entire arena in view.
If your opponent decides to use scissors, quickly drag Ro-Shambo along the arena wall to avoid the scissors’ range. On Paper, a flying book deals constant damage to you from a distance. Either heals the lost life points or finishes the book without further ado. As soon as Ro-Shambo challenges you to the second round of “rock, scissors, paper”, any stone balls, scissors or books will disappear again – the worst is over. You use all damage-increasing options as soon as the hand receives 500 percent more damage.
WoW: The Battle Guild – Rare Bosses – The Bear and the Maiden High (Rank 7)
Like the vial of reddish slime, with a bit of luck you can also find the quest item “The Bear and the Maiden High” in a Big Treasure Chest, which you receive as a reward for completing a random scenario. Turning it in to the Battle Guild grants you permission to challenge Argh and her pet bear, Raaaargh – the original title of the challenge “The Bear and the Lady Fair” is a reference to the song “The Bear and the Maiden Fair” from the book “A Song of Ice and Fire” by George RR Martin, which is also very popular in Germany and not least because of the TV series “Game of Thrones”.
The fight against Argh and Raaargh differs from the other battles because the fair maiden stands on a high wooden pedestal that you cannot reach directly. Only by using the trampolines can you get into Argh’s melee range and fight them without the bear getting in your way. Another advantage of the jump feature: If you jump continuously from one trampoline to the next and then to the third and finally onto the pedestal, your critical hit chance increases by 100 percent and your damage dealt increases by 300 percent for a short time. While the buff is consumed by your first ability, the damage boost is still worth it. That’s why ranged fighters should also look for the way up if their damage output is too low without the buff. just make sure
But don’t expect to stay on the wooden scaffolding for too long. The virgin lady doesn’t like your advances at all and after a few seconds she “smacks” you back down. If you can momentarily boost your dodge or parry chance, do so to avoid Argh’s attack. Stun effects are also effective. Also, position yourself so that your back is to one of the side trampolines, so that if you are thrown off the scaffolding, you can immediately start the triple jump again. By the way, with this tactic you ignore the bear for the entire fight – apart from “Crush” and “Skull Bash” Raaargh has nothing on the box anyway. Also, he has too much life for you to kill him first.
The situation is different if you want to spend the entire time below the platform as a ranged fighter, because then the bear can spoil your tour with its constant attacks and the interrupt effect of “Skull Bash”. In this case, it is best to use control and stun effects that will turn off the bundle of fur for a while. Or you distract the bear with a companion while you shoot at Argh undisturbed.
WoW: The Battle Guild – Rare Bosses – Mingus Diggs (Rank 9)
One of the toughest challenges in the Brawler’s Guild awaits you in the battle against Mingus Diggs. Before you can challenge the Archaeologist, you must first find the related quest item Earthcutter of the Digmaster. Exchange Archeology Finds with Brann Bronzebeard in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms for boxes of Tol’vir Archeology Fragments, or alternatively dig up Tol’vir Fragments in Uldum. With a bit of luck you’ll find the Earthcutter, which you’ll hand in to the fighting guild.
Mingus Diggs only has about 870,000 life points and deals hardly any damage himself. However, since he is immune to your attacks, your opponent’s obvious weakness is of no use to you at first. To remove Mingus’ immunity, you must first destroy the four pillars in the corners of the arena. Since the four stone bodies and Mingus have a total of around 18,000,000 life points, you must deliver at least 150,000 to 180,000 points of damage per second in the two minutes up to the berserker phase with a high active combat time. Flasks, buff food, potions and a buff group are mandatory!
The damage race is made more difficult by the pillars, which constantly fire at you, stacking a debuff on you that deals more damage with each charge. It only stops attacking you when you get close to the respective pillar. At the same time, you reduce the charges of the associated debuff again. So you have to move from pillar to pillar in order not to let the four different harmful effects stack too high, which in turn reduces your damage output.
In order to keep the walking distances as small as possible, you have to knock down the first pillar right at the beginning of the fight before you make the first change of position. Activate as many damage-enhancing agents as necessary and get enough damage out of your hero for the pillar to break, you in turn suffer too much damage. Defensive abilities such as self-healing or damage reduction increase your chances of survival in the early stages. And once the first pillar is destroyed, you only have to walk back and forth between three corners, which is much more pleasant.
After that, ranged fighters continue to focus on a single statue, because despite the necessary position changes, you should always have your target within range. The fewer pillars in play, the easier the fight will be for you, so it is your top priority to bring down the second stone object as well. Melee fighters, on the other hand, bite the bullet and always target the pillar they are standing on. Be sure to pick up talents and glyphs that increase your mobility and run speed, and allow you to deal even more damage from a distance or on the move. Since you’re constantly taking damage, you should also pack any type of self-healing effect so you don’t run out of life points prematurely.
WoW: The Battle Guild – Rare Bosses – The Blind Hero (Rank 9)
For a long time there was speculation about how to get the Worn Blindfold needed for this fight. We now know that the quest item can only be earned during the Darkmoon Faire period. With a bit of luck, you can find the blindfold in a Darkmoon game prize, which you can obtain from the daily repeatable quests at the faire.
For a rank 9 boss, the Leotheras blend is very tame – the fight is a lot easier than the one against Mingus Diggs. The blind hero has three melee attacks that deal damage in a pinned area like Doctor Ironfist. In this case, however, your opponent distributes the attacks so quickly that you cannot leave the affected area comfortably. He also uses the “Fast Strike” in particular several times in a short time, so that repeated multiple hits can knock you out.
To dodge the attacks, melee fighters simply run in circles around the blind hero while reciting their normal combat sequence. When your opponent begins to cast their Blind Cleave, you move away from them briefly as the Cleave deals damage in all directions. Long-distance fighters, on the other hand, simply avoid the proximity of the adversary, but often have to put their feet up because the blind hero has bridged the distance to you with just a few steps and then usually starts the next attack immediately. Therefore, choose talents and glyphs that increase your mobility.
