One of the first instances of Pandaria that WoW players can visit in the upcoming expansion Mists of Pandaria is the Temple of the Jade Serpent. Find out what awaits WoW characters level 85 and above in our dungeon guide.
The WoW instance Temple of the Jade Serpent can be found on the new WoW continent Pandaria in the Jade Forest. The temple complex in the eastern part of the zone serves not only as an instance, but also as a quest area – both as part of the quests in Jade Forest and as part of the daily quests of the Heavenly Exalted reputation faction. The Jade Forest quests are especially worthwhile – because here you get a glimpse of the instance before it is contaminated by the Sha.
This infestation of the temple by the Sha of Doubt then also forms the historical background for the dungeon. The Temple of the Jade Serpent is available for characters level 85 and above in a normal version – level 90 and above can also play the instance in a heroic version. Here, the enemies can endure more and strike harder – but nothing changes in the course of the fights and the tactics.
Temple of the Jade Serpent: Wise Mari
The fight against Mari is divided into two phases. The following applies to both phases: Stay away from the water in the room. It doesn’t matter if it’s a puddle or water in a pool – touching it will cause damage.
In the first phase, you won’t have to deal with Mari herself. The boss protects himself with a “water bubble”. Instead, you need to eliminate a series of adds – the spoiled living water. If you kill one of the adds, it will split into three spoiled drops. Do this as soon as possible. Of course, you also need to stay away from the sha residue that the elementals leave behind. Also off limits is the area that Mari attacks with the “Hydro Lance”. This attack regularly puts the water in one part of the room in an attack mood. The rule is to dodge.
Once you’ve danced around the evil water with the adds long enough and defeated four corrupted living waters, the second phase begins. You shouldn’t get too close to Mari when this happens. Bursting his protective bubble deals damage in a 10 meter radius and knocks player characters back. The actual process of the second phase is then quite simple: Mari spins continuously in a circle and casts “wash away”. He shoots a jet of water into view that deals damage and knocks back targets that are hit. So move around the boss outside the beam and avoid stepping into the water and killing him.

Getting Started
All players with an active World of Warcraft subscription or game time on their accounts have access toWoW Classic at no additional cost.
- Open the Blizzard Battle.net Desktop App and select World of Warcraft from the menu.
- Select World of Warcraft Classic from the Version menu. If you have more than one World of Warcraft account, you’ll see a second Account drop-down list. In this column, select the active account you want to play with.
- Click the Install button. The progress bar will tell you when your game is ready to play.
- Click the Play button when the installation is complete.
You will need to select the realm you want to play on from several different realm types. Make sure you choose the same realm as your friends – in World of Warcraft Classic, you can only group with characters that are on the same realm as you!
